Hehe...I didn't think they would actually crack the reCAPTCHA...I remember seeing the project on SlashDot but I didn't think it could be done. Apparently I was mistaken. This sucks... Well...hello spam, and IP bans.
reCaptcha has been hacked/cracked... forums and comment boards all over the net are being submerged with xrumer spam. We need to get a new plugin to handle it automatically but the new sysadmin doesn't start until 31 Jan and they are putting it on his, no doubt rapidly growing, list of things to do. We're asking the top guy if we can have it prioritised like yesterday... fingers crossed but it won't be over the weekend anyway. Thanks for all the help getting rid of them. Do you soft-delete/ban user? That is what we usually do anyway. Thanks Jim Z
