I'm home for a couple hours, so as promised I broke out the recipe, its not the most healthy thing but these are good.

1 cup sugar
1 cup of mashed potatoes with no milk
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
3 tsp baking powder (heaping is ok)
3 cups of flower
2 tblsp butter (or substitute)

Add salt, sugar, and mashed potatoes into bowl and mix together. Beat the eggs separately of the mix and add milk to them, stir until thoroughly mixed. Add the baking powder flower and butter to the potato mix and and pour the milk egg mixture on top, mix thoroughly. (for some reason these do not come out right if you toss it all together in the bowl o.o)

Then you can either pat the dough down and cut doughnut shapes out, or just make small doughnut balls out of it. You deep fry them at 350 degrees F until they turn golden brown and float to the surface. If you want to add powdered sugar or cinnamon to them you should roll them in it as soon as they come out of the deep fryer so that most of it will stick.

This makes a good amount so you might want to adjust more or less.
