Gnome NW/A
gnome elites are only worth 4 points, the lowest out of all races. my draft rate is 60%, i've got 20% homes, decent science and 9% libraries, yet my nw/a is sitting around 150. i'm playing hybrid and have 4tpa and 1.4 wpa raw, 93mod OPA, 80mod DPA. i've seen some gnome provinces in other kds with NW/A over 160 and 170. How do they do it? I really can't figure it out. do these people max out the sciences and run high libraries? is it because i'm playing hybrid? if i had 1wpa, 1tpa and the rest military, maybe my nw/a would be higher? any help is appreciated. thanks.

Easy, run full specs.
Btw, higher nw efficiency = better.
-
what do you mean run full specs? train off and def specialists instead of elites? are they worth more than 4 nw points? where can i find that information? how do you know? if they are, then why would anyone use gnome elites at all?
-
you dont want high networth per acre. they just have more drafted than you, or they are using specs which are higher networth.
-
Off spec: 4 nw
Def Spec: 5 nw
That's strictly off memory, so that could be wrong, or they could have changed it.
-
just run all elites except some specs to help kill dragons with. with all elites you'll be a little less suckage :P
-
ospecs: nw = 0.8 * off points
dspecs: nw = def points
so for non-humans and non dwarves, ospecs = 0.8*5 = 4 nw, dspecs = 5 nw.
for dwarves, ospecs = 6*0.8 = 4.8 nw, dspecs = 5 nw.
for humans, ospecs = 4 nw, dspecs = 6 nw.
thieves/wizards = 4 nw.
http://wiki.utopia-game.com/index.php/Networth - specs nw
http://wiki.utopia-game.com/index.php/WoL_Races - elites nw
so, halfling elites = 5 nw. just run some dspecs, and the rest into elites. they probabyl keep 65% or 70% draft.
-
hes a gnome, he wants more elites to keep his nw low.
-
why is that? I don't get why I should try to keep my NW low. I think I'll become a target if my NW is low.
-
networth efficiency is a good thing - needlessly inflating it by using d spec instead of elites basically means you will have the same networth as someone with stonger troops - and you dont want that.
If you keep your networth low (by using more efficient troops, not by having a low draft) then you should stay out of range of them, and more in range of provinces you can break.
example - using d spec instead of elites will increase your networth a bit, but it will not grant you any boost in troops numbers right? whereas if you use elites for defense you have a 20% lower networth in your defense troops
-
If that was the case, why not run off specs and keep his offense even lower?
-
Elite Unit – Golem (5/5, $400, 4.0 nw) - o specs are fine, you cant turtle with them, but they are indeed cheaper than elites.
-
He asked how to maximise NW, the answer for which is running full dspecs.
However, if you want a prov that doesn't suck, you should be running exclusively leets, with the exception of specs for drake slaying.
-
offense = NW
ma brain is gewd

so, i think what i've learned here is that a lower nw/a isn't necessarily a sign of an unhealthy province. and that is the case with gnomes.
