enough with all the complaining its getting silly... its really not that bad.
Things take time, and its the first age for them give them a break.
changes look well thought out, its gonna be a fun age just... be abit before it starts is all ;)
the fact that you're saying that, "give them a break", shows that you admit that they are unprofessional.
assuming someone takes over microsoft, you would expect a smooth transaction and everything to flow because you expect some sort of professionalism from such an organisation.

OMAC are like the new owners who see the club as an investment and end up screwing the club over.
this is the first time since i started in 2001 that such a delay has happened, and to make it worse, with NO official word or apology.
I must admit Im exited with OMAC leading swirve, still this is immensly annoying since my other online game is also under maintenance :(
They may well turn out to be a good thing for the game, but by any admission, it's not the ideal start.
if your assuming something like a microsoft takeover (nevermind an online game takeover) should be smooth, i think you have absolutely no grip on reality. Also as a football fan I know owners bring a new personality to the table, they have their own rules and nothing holds them to confine to previous rules. They are responsible for their own standard, and i agree with Pike, i am excited about the new changes.
Our kingdom knew there would be changes to start off, but we didnt expect anything dramatic since it was their first official age, but i think what they are doing is courageous, it is not easy to come in and shake things up like they are. So basically, now we had a few days to reorganize and develop a game-plan (like a football team :) to rediseign the makeup of our kingdom

OMAC like all, are humans. Things like this, they couldn't have forseen i.e. people that sit and avidly wait for the new age and plan things to the T in an online game. Yes yes, they were here with Mehul but I doubt they had truly anticipated or gotten a feel of the uto community then.
Either way, they are trying their best to give us a BETTER gaming experience by introducing changes and move to a different server. Rather than b*tch you think you could at least attempt to sound more civil because after all they ARE the owners of the game now. And what Mehul looked for in his game and the # of players that were left in the game may not be what OMAC is looking for. Obv Mehul went for a more homebrew style whereas OMAC is aiming in some ways to commercialize the game.
Go out and go do something useful instead.

I have to agree with clawzzz on this one,
Omac has been very unprofessional in this transition.
At the very least, they should maybe update their blog with updated information. They have not done so. And they DEFINATELY should have a section in this forum for official announcements so people can be properly informed.
IF information on what's going on is available, they certainly are doing a lousy job of communicating it. With my wife, I run a vBulliten forum like this one for doll collectors and know how easy it is and also how important it is, to set up an Announcements section in the forum to communicate with the members.
The simple fact that Omac has not done this anb has not compiled updates, announcements and other pertinent inofrmation in one easy to access area is enough to convince me of their unprofessionalism.
I've been playing this game since Age 1 and Mehul for all his faults and shortcomings over the years was never as unprofessional about things as this.
Only real forum users browse them and know where something is posted. A lot of users just want to look at the announcements and know in general what is happening. And MOST players now WILL find it annoying that omac did NOT do what they said.
To point some things out:
People are used to having race changes each age now. they didnt announce that yet, though of course this isnt directly to blaim them for.
They said game would stop the 4th - it didn't
They said game would start the 8th - it didn't
They said new account management - Not yet seen.
Of course we should keep in mind that they are "new" to utopia. but frankly, they are a company ! a company that doesnt do what it is advertising FAILS big times at customers and will loose their customers. Without an OMAC explanation in the next few days people WILL get pissed at them.
atm, they are only dugging their own hole so that mehul can buy uto back for 10% of what he sold it for :)

They were going to focus on implementing their new ideas and changing servers, but we had to be little babies and demand changes immediately. LOL I will say this again, there was never a post that said the game was ending Oct 31st. Front page said August into October, very generic like it ALWAYS is, even though ages generally end the first week in the next month. I have never seen a bigger bunch of whiny little babies complaining about the stupidest things.
Instead of taking these few days off and having some fun, you people just spend all day in this forum whining, I can't take it anymore.
What next? What if OMAC gets everything perfect next age? Are you going to complain OMAC isn't screwing up enough for you to complain about on a daily basis and so you have nothing to do?

While I miss the opportunity to sign in and kill someone a little bit, the forced break will do us all some good. Maybe masturbate a little more than usual to relieve the stress if that won't cause any serious physical damage due to the already hectic schedule. Take a nap. Watch a movie. Well, I honestly didn't create an account just for my last post. I hope to do even better in the future. This just happened to be my first stop and the posts did make me smile. Fun to think about all us freaks talking each other into being ok while we wait for the age to start. Good stuff. ;)
I actually love OMAC, trading system is nice, new servers = good, race changes were FANTASTIC, I thought we were balanced last age, but I like this age changes better so far. Once they get the Announcements forum up, and the game started, everything will be perfect for me.
I guess this thread is showing clearly how addictive utopia has become for players that really get into it.
Its a matter of hours before freeze time begins, so please stop the baby crying sounds over all the forums if you want OMAC to keep reading that trash.
Yeah, the acct deals are great. I hope to utilize that this age guilt free. I am sure OMAC will get more in tune with how the utopian masses like things as it goes. If they bring back undead I will send them a donation.

The only thing that is holding true as of now, is it is behind schedule. When in Genius, they stopped all actions except attacks, was a wrong thing to do. If some aspects of the game was stopped, then all should have been stopped.
The new change of baby sitting accounts is wrong. If you are allowed to baby sit another ones account by paying for it (which is commercializing it /.25 cents per day), then why not let me have multi-accounts and pay for it. It will be what happens.
The swap kingdom idea, to me will be a 2 tier system once some kingdoms kill off new players just to get the friends and top players in one place. It will not be a good idea once it is in operation. New players that had never played this game will get the wrong idea of war is in the same kingdom. Then they will try to attack in their kingdom.
Trading system does nothing except give midlevel kds a better chance to compete legally, top kds are all already traded anyway. Sitting max time is 21 days, so you can't xlog for very long if you try to abuse it. Razing nubs from good kds has been in practice since the beginning of time.
So overall, nothing has changed except OMAC trying to make it fair, and make a little money in the process.

It has already brought back one player who used to play with us :)
It'll bring back a few players, maybe a couple hundred, but all of those Kingdoms who have been holding on to their good players are going to lose them as those players can now legally just join a bigger Kingdom whenever an offer (and recruiting will be large scale) comes along.
All the work Kingdoms have put in to creating a good player base, sometimes over years, will be completely wiped out.
It's the worst change they could possibly have implemented, and it was only put in to save Catwalk money on proxies. All you monkies have jumped on the bandwagon and have no idea how it's going to affect the game at the grass root level.

The complete opposite is true. My kingdom has struggled to keep a solid player base, and always have had around 18-20 reliable players, and NOW we can finally get our kd how we want it, and fully active, and start competing.
Ghettos will be able to string together a couple of other players from ghettos, and build midlevel kingdoms from the ashes. And only having limited trades will still allow space for new players to random into these types of kds where they have a chance to learn. There will still be bottom of the barrel ghettos, but that is no different than now. Players of any talent either trade, try to build a kingdom from a ghetto, or defect in search of a midlevel kd, this does not change that.
And you are right about one thing, recruiting will be large scale, and the overall quality of the average kd will improve drastically. Now we will have Top<MIDLEVEL>Ghetto instead of Top<Midlevel<GHETTO.
How it can kill the game? Mid level KD's can achieve good players with ease. Not everybody wants to play in hyperactive top KD's. It doesn't mean he is weak and not worth trading him in mid-level KD.Quote:
