Land dropping has been one of the oldest tactics in the game. You refer to it as "as lame as it comes" because it wasn't fair to you at the time. You abused GBP, broke a NAP, abused a fake war bug (which probably should be a deletable offense because I'm pretty sure it's a BUG and not a game imbalance) and now you want to throw a **** fit because someone land dropped a couple thousand acres?

Land dropping is a valid tactic within the confines of the game's architecture. Is it cheap? Sure. But it has been a tactic used for 10 years with little complaint from Swirve or now OMAC.
It is much more legit than abusing a BUG in a game. People get DELETED for stuff like that and the fact that it has yet to be fixed is appalling.
