I agree with this so so much. Proteus coming here talking about being "beyond clean" is the absolute gag factor. I haven't even been around for long but I know that can't be true, that's not how the top they've had part in creating works. I don't know if it was any different at any point but as things are right now it's simply not true. Don't get me wrong, I still like and most of all respect Proteus in my own way or 'most any good player for that matter. I don't really know these people's personalities but I can at least admire their prowess in game and the relevance of what they've created/been a part of for what it's worth.

In past was norm for trade acc. Its was against rules but every one have done it. TOP kingdoms had his scripters so this way they gained account faster. Its what made them TOP and rest ghetto. Many from TOP kingdoms had his proxy x-longin sites too. BF was considered stronger server because all pro cheaters was in BF and its was more alliance vs alliance compare pure solo compete. WoL was for less advanced cheaters and Kds had more chances for solo compete. Overall every one have break game rules one or another way. Its was norm but illegal. So no one is clean and cant claim it.
Still win age never was easy because you need to deal with so many different problems. But win age dont mean you are best KD too. Game was way so dirty, no moral or personal grudges because with server 30-100k you cant really expect to find some one next age or pay for your sins. Simple wild jungle rules:)

I agree with the poster as well, just my humble opinion here. Back when i played in my teens, when it was with a black and brick red user interface.

On the side note, the warring kd i am in has now turned into a whoring kd. We have climbed 30 spots in land and nw ranking over the past week or so.

You are incredibly naive if you don't think trading was common practice back then, at least, prior to the invitation system.

As someone who played back then, news flash, it was pretty common practice.

I didn't say it wasn't common practice. I know that if you wanted to compete you had to cheat. That doesn't mean you weren't cheating. Trying to cop out behind "no one didn't cheat" is bull****. I never cheated and I know plenty of others that didn't either.

If you traded you were a cheater. I get why you did it. I get that most people were doing it. I get that it wasn't policed very well and that made it easy to do. None of that changes the facts that it was against the rules and you had an unfair advantage over players that were playing legitimately

Random attacks are common and I don't do them, and I'm an attacker. The relevance of my statement is that you can be viably dangerous, even when hobbled. It's not a question of naivety, it's mere morality.

I self induce my limits and I'm fine. It keeps me out of powerful kingdoms because nobody wants an attacker that doesn't random. I use to but the game doesn't require me griefing anonymous players to be successful.

Thus, cheating is an apparent advantage but I play beyond fair and am quite comfortable. I fully understand the reason and legacy of the cheating, but the root of the Utopian experiment was and still is elsewhere. Essentially the meta is based on a mutated fallacy. Obviously some very intellectually gifted players sculpted the game into what we see today. They must also answer to its ruin.

All those changes players ***** about, all the crying about age length but never have the lords of meta looked upon themselves for ruining the game. Because it wasn't simply exerting full intellectual leverage on the rules, it was cheating.
Now I know that sounds harsh, but I'm quite at ease with the cheaters. My friends and I learned this lesson millennia ago playing paper and pencil games. Chasing meta, cheating or not, ruins the game. Don't take it personally, as I'm not saying it to offend. Players of great skill should consider themselves stewards of the game.

I don't feel any guilt. Maybe you didn't trade. Still its was common practice and you cant deny it. You don't know if ppl in Kd you was never traded accounts too... So its silly to argue over it. What is sure is all TOP kds had traded account because its only way for compete. Its was accepted and considered normal from community but not game rules. So its make all TOP kds cheaters. Take it how you like. :)

I'm confused. Is there some wild interpretation of my posts that suggests some top kingdoms weren't cheaters? Lol
