Come on and cry...
Get advice from people who know better.
Continue to cry...
Oh woe is you would you like some cheese with your whine?
I was monarch of a ghetto 4 ages ago, we got bottomfed, such is life. There is a recruit system in the game now to make it easy for you, use it. There is a recruitment section in the forums, use it. There are people offering you good advice, take it. If all else fails, instead of crying about the people who are leaving, why don't you join them :)
Your advice is good in the current game climate, but I think it shows more an error with the current game climate and proves the OP's point. When alot of us started the game, we started the game because you could play a math simcity type game and succeed by yourself. The rules allowed this. If you played with a kingdom that you enjoyed playing with you started to work together as a team and have kingdom goals.
The best game allows for individual goals, team goals, war win goals, size goals, all to be attained by everyone. The more goals and ways to succeed the better. Allowing people to succeed and outgrow their kingdom, if they want, should be encouraged.
When the random competitive guy signs up for the first time and plays, alot of them wants to be able to be large and succeed by growing. This shouldn't be discouraged if the goal is to increase the playerbase.
