Simple tactic is to raze back, but don't focus on a single province so you get better gains. If a province starts getting focused down explore, top kingdoms will not allow a smaller province to explore but you should have a big explore pool. Pump one or two your larger provinces with all elites and suicide on their banks, you can get 600k offense on a 2500 acre province I am sure that is enough to raze one of their banks.
