No that's not a mistake. Go ask a math teach and you have to put it into context. Just take the first big ol' post I made and ask your math teacher if it is correct.
My math teacher says it's wrong. Do you believe us now?
The problem, vines, is that you have COMPLETELY misunderstood the value of sci. If you had been making any research of yourself, you would have discovered that it is very far from 0.92, 0.092 or whatever you want it to be.
And as long as you dont get how much one book is worth, it doesnt matter what kind of maths you use.
btw, you still didnt tell me what the answer to 1/92 is in a calculator? Or is all calculators a part of a conspiracy?
lol dude shut up 1/92 = 1.092~ if you get rid of the one in front of the .092 it becomes
.92 hahaha. I know you're bull-sh*ting you didn't ask a math teacher.
So it is 1.092 now, is it? So those 5k books now turned into ~5.5k nw? Or several hundreds of thousands of nw when you grow a little...Quote:

1. It was YOU who said "lol dude shut up 1/92 = 1.092".
2. "Now say I doubled in size. The amount of books I need inorder to keep +2% is times by 4." This is false. If you wish to raise from 2% to 4% pop-bonus, THEN you need 4 times the amount of books. The effect of Sci is based on BPA, and if you double your size, you only need to double the amount of books to keep the same BPA.
Read your own damn posts! And while youre still reading, read the guide aswell!
Oh my bad you are right what was I thinking.
I'm getting the feeling that Vines is deliberately acting retarded to get a rise out of the rest of us. Nobody could be that stupid...
vines, you based all your arguments on the assumption that science gave about 100x as much NW as it actually does. Do you withdraw your arguments and concede that it's a horrible strategy?
I am state and hear me now for ever one book a person learns .92gc is added to that person net worth. So if a person has 50,000 books add .92gc to one's net worth 50,000 times and that will give you the amount of net worth added by science.
But that's horribly wrong. Do you know that 1/92 means 1 divided by 92? What about 1/25, is that 0.25? Is 1/2 0.02?
It is not wrong you are not at that level. 1/25 is saying 1/2 of a 1/4, and that looks like this .025. Or 1/25 could mean 1/4 of a 100%; and that looks like this .25. It all depends on the context of the numbers.
This is the saddest frontal assault on proper math I've ever seen in my 12 years of playing Utopia :(
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fractions
In mathematics, a fraction (from the Latin fractus, broken) is a concept of a proportional relation between an object part and the object whole.
A fraction is an example of a specific type of ratio, in which the two numbers are related in a part-to-whole relationship, rather than as a comparative relation between two separate quantities.[1]
A fraction is a quotient of numbers, the quantity obtained when the numerator is divided by the denominator. Thus 3⁄4 represents three divided by four, in decimals 0.75, as a percentage 75%. The three equal parts of the cake are 75% of the whole cake.
Each fraction consists of a denominator (bottom) and a numerator (top), representing (respectively) the number of equal parts that an object is divided into, and the number of those parts indicated for the particular fraction. Fractions are rational numbers, which means that the denominator and the numerator are integers.
For example, the fraction 3⁄4 could be used to represent three equal parts of a whole object, were it divided into four equal parts. Because it is impossible to divide something into zero equal parts, zero can never be the denominator of a fraction (see division by zero). A fraction with equal numerator and denominator is equal to one (e.g. 5⁄5 = 1) and the fraction form is rarely, if ever, given as a final result.
Nah it is clear you full understand of what is being talked about. 1/2 is .5 or 1/2 of 100% which turn can also be written as 50 assume 100% is 100. If it were 1/20 it would be .02 or .2 of a 100%. If it was 1/50 it would be .05 or .5 of a 100%. In this case the 100% is one book. So 1/92 is .092 or .92 of 100% and in this case a 100% is one book.
Omg, as someone with a masters in Theoretical Physics, I'm just insulted by this.
1/92 = 1 divided by 92. Run that through your calculator, Vines. You will come up with the answer 0.010869565217391304347826086956522
However, this is much easier explained by the fractional value 1/92, or by the rounded values of .01, or .011
Now we've established you have no actual grasp of basic mathematics, I'm going to put this as simply as possible so I do not overshoot your low IQ:
Science = good
More science = very good
Trying to argue a point when your basic mathematics behind it has been disproven dozen of times = bad
And please, do not go on at me about context. There is no context in the global system of mathematics where 1/92 = 1.092
Alright, let's play a game. It's called Windows Calculator, I think you have it on your computer. We're both going to do the following, okay?
1) Open windows calculator
2) Click 1, / and 2. Post the result here.
3) Click 1, / and 20. Post the result here.
4) Click 1, / and 50. Post the result here.
5) Click 1, / and 92. Post the result here.
I'll give you a head start, so you get a fair chance. Posting my results in 5 minutes.
EDIT: Allanon, you can play too if you really want to.
1/2 = .5
1/20 = .05
1/50 = .02
1/92 = 0.010869565217391304347826086956522
I love playing Windows Calculator, almost as much as I love Noob Theatre
Yes if you that number up you get .01092 which can be written as such 1.092 and if you get ride of the one you get .92. I have already explained this to you guys. Oh my goodness.

I'm just telling saying in the long run no science is better. For every book learned .92gc is add to one's net worth. Simple as that. Don't try to understand it if you don't want but that's the fact and there is no way around that.
1/92 can also mean 92% of 1 or .92 of 100%. How many times do I have to say this.
No, Vines. No it cannot. You cannot write 1/92 as .01092 (which it does not equal, seriously, you have got to be retarded or metally disabled in some way to attempt to keep arguing this against me). There is no "getting rid of the 1". There is no "using the / as a 0 indicator". There is no "%". We are talking fractions, which are plain and simple division equations. It translates directly to "1 divided by 92 parts", which means if I multiply the answer by 92, I should get 1.
0.92 x 92 = 84.64
0.01092 x 92 = 1.00464
0.010869565217391304347826086956522 x 92 = 1
Now, I've given you the proof. Even if you round the correct answer to 1/92 up you get .01087, not .01092
You have an elemetally flawed understanding of basic mathematics. Go back to primary school, and try again.
edit: and just for the record, 1/92 as a percentage is 1.0869565217391304347826086956522%, not 92%
Okay guys are right. I'm wrong you guys are right. I'm going to use the numbers I use and keep on doing what I'm doing and you guys do like wise.
Have fun playing your weak province.
Does this also mean you'll stop giving bad advice on the forums?
From this, we can deduce that 1/20 < 1/50. So if you have two equally sized pies and divide A in 20 pieces and B in 50 pieces, the slices of B will be bigger. Very interesting. This may be a major breakthrough, allowing us to harness Cold Fusion.Quote:
If it were 1/20 it would be .02 or .2 of a 100%. If it was 1/50 it would be .05 or .5 of a 100%.
You can tell me your province name and location in PM, and we will put your theory to the test.
I will use science, you do not. Let's see who wins.
(And ignore the fact that I actually know math and therefore can do calculations, btw.)
That's a typo. I have been for a long time and I type the numbers off the top of my head and when I'm sleeply sometimes I flip the numbers 1/20 would be .05 or .5 of a 100%. And 1/50 is .02 or .2 of a 100%. Sorry about that mix up.
cant we all just sit here and look at the bunny
Okay, so 1/20 is 0.05, 1/50 is 0.02 and 1/92 is 0.92. That means 1/92 > 1/20 > 1/50. So if we cut the pie in 92 pieces, each piece will be bigger than if we cut it into 20 or 50 pieces.

This has been an eye-opening experience for me. I had some friends who had difficulty grasping the basics of fractions when they were 8 years old, but I never thought anyone over the age of 10 could possibly have such a poor grasp of such a simple subject.
Vines, I would hate to see you trying to learn high school math...
I think we need a poll about whether or not he's simply an amazingly skilled troll who has fooled most of us. I'm undecided.
You can make that dragon jump up and down with your scroll wheel, btw.
Yeah I don't think he is being serious.
I really, really hope it is a joke, because otherwise I have lost a little faith in humanity...
