The bottom is hot

I'm just speaking from our own KD's experience, but in Green, we love to button play. Especially considering the set up you choose, an extended hostile period can really change the landscape of an upcoming war. The problem we have faced many times during past ages and 2 times already this age is that if you out maneuver your previously agreed upon opponent during the pre-war hostile period...they can change their minds and back out of war. And that is a MAJOR problem with this game.

We lost out on 2 potential wars because of that and the only recourse we got was 1 free land and 1 free sci wave. But it wasted a total of about 2 weeks time for us. We almost lost a 3rd war, but we baited them just enough by doing a full learn wave into their fort.... That caused major damage to us on an opening wave and forced the war to last an entire week before we won. But...to go to those length just to 1) get a war and 2) win...is exhausting.

I have to agree that many KDs in the "war tier" are extremely scared of the pre-war hostile period or don't treat it seriously enough. The only KD we had an enjoyable hostile period with was Divinity because they actually button played with us within a 24 hour agreed hostile period. I don't see why we can't all wars be like that :/. But then again..I'm only speaking from my KD's experiences over the ages.

I'm not sure why you are complaining (or are you?)?. Why should _all_ wars be like that? I like that there is a diversity.

Ahh, yes, my apologies for using the word "all". Basic statements like that can get you chewed up in these forums. Essentially what I am saying is that I wish there some some measure to prevent KDs from backing out of an already agreed upon war just because they got out played pre-war.

Forcing wars is not a solution, if people back out then you handle it on a case by case basis. Things can be frustrating for sure.... the main issue is the lack of player base.

I don't know what that means, Khrono. Like I said before, this our first real trip to the top of the Utopian charts. Sure, we have been on the top of the warring kingdom charts before, but that is because we war a lot, and we win most. Now, all of a sudden, everyone wants to negotiate wars, and I have no clue how to do that. I appreciate the dude in Spartans that was trying to teach me, and I look forward to the lessons he gives me AND the lessons his kingdom gives mine once we go to war, but up until now my negotiation skills have failed, and diplomatic skills are lacking. My normal mode of going to war is you see a kingdom that is in your range, you snatch news to make sure they are not hostile with anyone, if not you send in 7 attacks to them, they either respond with attacks or send CF proposal, then you move on from there.

This age is the AGE of Bull*hit to me. Earlier in the age, we snatched the news of Hipmunks to see they were not hostile, then waved them. They declined to war, made some threats and we moved on and forgot about them. Then later we were OBVIOUSLY hostile with someone with attacks from both kingdoms going back and forth when all of a sudden we start getting waved by Hipmunks. I send them CF and let them know we are going to war in a few hours, and they kept hitting us saying how we did the same thing to them. BS After that, even more BS from Ascension.

Now I get a msg from about 5 kingdoms wanting war. My kingdom picked Warlords, so we check the news, see they are not in hostile with anyone, and then we wave them. Their monarch sends a CF and a bunch of threats. Now, I know what the threats mean, I learned that from Hipmunks this age, and Warlords in previous age. Threats mean they will wait until we are engaged in hostile with someone else, and then wave us. So I snatched news and saw that they waved a smaller kingdom. I messaged the monarch of the smaller kingdom and he said he did not want to war with Warlords, and that Warlords were just bullying them for science points and honor. So I broke CF with Warlords and waved them again. I actually thought it worked because they were attacking us back and doing ops on us, but then the Bouncers came in and waved us and we are at war with them. Now I did not even complain about the Bouncers hitting us while we were hostile with Warlords, so I cannot understand why this handofthrawn dude is upset at us waving Warlords when they were hostile with NOONE the first time, and bottom feeding the second time. If they did not want to war us, then they should not have been threatening to retal us. Hipmunks taught us to take threats seriously.

Haha it was getting boring in here and I do enjoy starting trouble. So let me understand this if you agreed to war why would they hostile any other kingdom in war range. Second off 500k difference at that net size isn't that great seeing they waved into a fort. Third off if they wanted to war why would they send a cf. Fourth and lastly waving is part of the game but who does a massacre wave without a agreed war. Just seems low to me and you gain nothing from it besides a enemy. Bad diplomacy on your part and it will come back to bite you in the long run. I advised them to hit into your war but apparently there not scum bags like you guys. There words not mine. Glad I could start some trouble again. Lol.

I'm not understanding your gripe. If you wave someone who is not ready to war, you set them back or push on them a situation they may not be interested in, and there is no guarantee that there will be a war. Your basically saying that you should just be able to wave someone for war whenever you like; and people should be down with that (or am I mistaken?)? I mean you are free to do that if you please, that is: wave people and try and force a war, but others are then free to do things to you based on how they choose to feel about it. Basically diplomacy is a desirable way to hopefully limit the possibility, if not out right out eliminate it, of just wasting each others time. Sure you could wave someone, grow fatter, kill off your opponents troops -- in essence, waste each others time.

Khrono is the gripe police. He doesn't want a measure in place to ensure that a originally agreed upon war actually takes place and he doesn't like people complaining about the state of diplomacy. He's MR. STATUS QUO!

Not true, thats just an accusation. I think the meter needs changed, for one. I think the points required for auto war should be increased.

Your inability to make running from an agreed war undesirable or possible even a lack of charity when someone runs where charity may be applicable is all I'm perceiving here.

Warlords never agreed to war warriors oath. All they did was ask for war nicely. Lol then 3 or 4 days later you do a massacre wave. My main beef is with doing a massacre wave myself. Just never heard of such a thing out of no where breaking a cf and waving into a hostile doing a massacre wave. Especially when warlords claim to have never done anything to you previously to that time and considered you a friendly kingdom. Hoping for a back story but guess your defense is two other kingdoms did mean things to you. Lol.

What the heck did you just say, lol. I'm not sure why we are arguing....but all I'm saying is... there should be some sort of incentive NOT to back out of an already agreed upon war during pre-war fighting. Key words: "an already agreed upon war". Maybe there is a penalty for KDs backing out in place? Maybe there is a nice bonus given to the KD that doesn't forfeit during hostile period. I'm not sure. But, I would like to make a little simpler to actually engage in a war when it's originally agreed upon by both KDs.

Yeah...doing anything more than that and you often risk losing out on actually going to war :(.
