On HP
Yes, that's very true, and I think that it was an incredibly smart choice to break up the 7th movie. I mean it's one thing to shorten the others, but the 7th has practically nothing that can be left out. So, yeah, I think the 7th movie(s) are going to be a lot better. At least, they shoulder be >.> Also, 2.5 hours each ^.^
The love stuff was crap, and they should have just left it out. Honestly I liked the 5th better than this one, and the people that rave about the 6th are just crazy fans and ****. Seriously, it wouldn't have been that hard to have made this one better.
And... oh... God... I was trying to resist but I can't. Here's the three things that REALLY irritated me:
1) Can someone please tell me WHEN Bellatrix attacked the Burrow? Seriously, I watched that entire scene going 'THE **** IS THIS ****?!' Why the hell would you add that? It added zero value to the movie whatsoever!
2) The Astronomy Tower. Really, we've all read it so I don't need to say anything. But I will ^.^ First off, the whole 'Harry hide under the floor!' was ridiculous. How hard was it to stay true to the book? Granted there was no Invisibility Cloak BUT they could have had Harry frozen in darkness so he wasn't seen still. But, anyways. So then we have Harry watching Draco aka THE KID HE PRACTICALLY HATES about to kill Dumbledore. Why the hell wouldn't he have done anything sooner? Yes, he made a promise, but that's a pretty weak reason. Moving on we have Snape appear out of nowhere and tell Potter to stay quiet and he goes up top. ... *rubs temples* Why would Harry listen to Snape? I think that's it. I'm tired lol
3) The entire castle exit scene. Just... wtf. No big battle? Seriously. Really. Are you kidding me? I felt cheated D: And the HarryxSnape dialogue at the end sucked ><
Anyways, I'm out lol

Really have me not wanting to see it. Was it worth the money atleast?
-
I would say to go see it, but just for the sake of seeing it. Let me put it this way:
If you ignore the books totally it was a good movie, it's when you compare it that it goes down in 'value'. Granted that goes for most movies, but for the HP series I think this was the worst.
-
I don't know about that. I was sooooooo disappointed with the "Lord of the Rings" Movies. The inaccuracies were to numerous to count. And, Having read the books too many times to count, my friends at the theatre said I was grumbling the whole time at each.
-
See, in the case of LotR the inaccuracies didn't bug me as much because they were done for the sake of condensing three huge novels into three movies and for the sake of presentation of the story.
A lot of important plot stuff got left out of HP6 though while scenes like the attack on the Burrow (BUT GUYS, LOOK, EXPLOSIONS) were added in or other scenes were chopped around. Was there any reason Ginny and Harry needed one brief kiss in the Room of Requirement instead of him kissing her at the end of his high on Felix Felicitous in the common room?
I can sense a wall of text trembling behind my eyelids as I struggle not to rant too much on the movie, so I'll just summarize. If, like me, you feel each successive Harry Potter movie has gotten worse (except for Goblet of Fire which was pretty great), then believe me, this is the worst yet.
P.S. You know what? I honestly don't remember -anything- about the fifth movie other than the crappy apparating battle (HEY THEY'RE SMOKE! AWESOME! </sarcasm>) in the Department of Mystery.
P.P.S. Why can I no longer type out HP without wanting to immediately add Lovecraft on the end of it?

on the thought of Endless airship thing, one word: Conan-ish. :)
in an airship sort of fashion. none of this final fantasy stuff... ;) I think what made the first VotS really good too was taht it was like the ocean... but in the air. :)

Guess I'll just wait for a decent bootleg then. Or for it to pop up on joox. Got around to the books after I saw the movies so they've never been much of a problem. :\ Except when I notice how gully the Dursleys(sp?) were in the book. Could've been something special on the screen.
Never cared much of LoTR. Books or movies. But, Mordor: Depths of Dejenol, holds a special place in me.
While we're on books. Anybody got any audiobook suggestions? Or podcast series?

Hmmm I wonder, is it bad sport to advertise another site here?
Blue Moon Roleplaying Forums
It's a more adult culture, 18 and over ONLY. Mostly due to sexual content, though as far as I am concerned the site does not strictly deal with sexual content. It's more because there is adult RPing they need to weed out minors.
Nice base, damn interesting people. And there's a chatbox =D
Anyways, if you wanna join just list vampire seduction in the referred by section ^.^
Check it out, but damnit don't forsake this place!

Also, who is interested in continuing Furious? Just wanted to get a new count going.

Put my reply in the thread.
Just curious if anyone else out there was still thinking about creating any new threads. I have quite a bit of time at the moment, of course it won't last, but I'd like to play in something else as well. Just in case anyone was considering but wasn't sure if they'd get a turnout, you have 1 ^_^

*Climbs out from under a pile of papers*
"Dammit Jim, im a writer not a geneticist! Why must you insist on making me do this Thesis on cancer research?"
"I'm not Jim, and you signed up for this, its not my fault"
Anyway, im off and on the boards, Vice and Virtue is being written personally now, though slowly due to RL. As for a airship type thread, im not 100% sure what that entails but would be willing to make a character.
I was wondering however, about a road movie type thread (though fantasy in slant) involving serious distance travel to new places/worlds/continents/times? giving each of the players a chance to take the GM lead if people get stuck for ideas or become too busy, a different person could have a continent/ect and throw the plot for that at us, followed by moving to another?
What do people think?

little open ended for my pallet at the moment.

Semi to fully GMed Vampire: the Requiem. Interest?
Clarification upon further thought:
Semi-GMed (Definite setting, plot and character restrictions) but no stats, because I think making it essentially a play-by-post game will exclude people who don't actually play nWoD/VtR and our community is so small at the moment that making niche games is counter-productive.
Also, unfamiliarity with Vampire the Requiem ends up being a bonus, because then you can really play the confused neonate who woke up one night Embraced...
What's going on, why am I so thirsty and why does that staggering drunk in that alley look delicious...
-
hehe well I'm always up for a good vamp thread, however know nothing bout the Requiem :)
-
Yeah, same here. I'm nearly always up for vampire RPs :3
I've heard good things about Req, wouldn't mind at least learning more
