40% homes is a little too much, I would go orc sage with 20% homes.
Why play?
Using all those programs is downright tedious and takes too much time, i did like the mathematical part of utopia at start 2 ages ago , and re-learned a lot of things long forgotten .
Im not complaining about the programs one has to use, i think they are great, the only thing i dont like is that in pimp, i have to click on each single enemy province to see its throne military survey etc, instead of being able to do just one click and have all provinces opened at once.
Yeah honestly , i did enjoy more getting flammed in this forums than playing the game some times, i cant do blind attacks when i have to 4ple tap at least 3 times a day, all my offense had to be perfectly calculated, sure it would be hard to integrate everything into the game , it would cost a lot of money, thats why i thought that the people who developed the external programs , should get royalties or shares in utopia to contribute.
What is the game for you, doing math?
You ask me why play, I like war games, the planning and plotting , organizing the kingdom , the people that play the game, all of you who i have never played with but its nice to know you all in the forums and all that .
So if i could reduce the time wasted on clicking and all that, I could focus more on other things.
I like that word internal calculators ,thanks for that .
Yes its not about being lazy man, its about using the time more efficiently . I rather have people posting in the kd forums and interacting than making them suffer with the tedious chores of copying and pastsing and all that .
I strongly believe that internal page that shows in war which of the enemy provinces have meteros and pitfalls and all that would help a lot to war properly.
This are the kind of things that make people stay in the ghetto, most dont have the aweful lot of time to be doing all the work needed in order to war properly.
Do you want people to be good at war because they have a lot of free time, and those who dont, to remain in the ghetto forever?
Am I really the only person who thinks is so damn tiresome to have to use all the external programs in order to war properly ?
A lot of people in different kingdoms ive been at just cant stand it to have to copy and paste every pitfall they make in pimp, every ms , every greed, every damn spell copy paste copy paste copy paste .
Wouldnt it be nice to see the game evolve ?
Is gojete being thoughtful and sincere?
It takes very little time to copy/paste ops into pimp.
If you don't have 5 minutes to play, don't play.
I find it ridiculous to post my first post here in this particular thread...
Well, anyway... Consider you're an attacker. I'm wondering, isn't it better to enter War with say... 25% Homes rather than some other offense modifier. With the plan of keeping TW on at all times when you are not deeply underpoped. (to be clear, I'm not talking about a strat with homes and overdrafting ... just homes for a war strat with "normal" drafting)
Maybe the birthrate would even make 35% Homes worth it... (considering how fast percentages change with land flow in war)
@gojete you do realize that Pimp has a custom column that you can use to display whatever portion of their Intel that you want for the entire KD. I.e. you can display runes and it will tell you how many runes each province has, and you can use such Intel (you can analyze the entire kd's offense, defense, tpa, and wpa simultaneously) to plan targets and such quite easily.
@OP - I'd take the bullet (or defect) rather than run that many homes. I'm not one of those who opposes homes totally, but anything above 20% is way too high imo. Halfer really doesn't really benefit that much from homes anyway. Their racial bonus doesn't apply to homes, but I'd say that sage is the best personality for high homes because they can boost that pop much higher with their science bonus.
I'm all for intergrated intel. A game that shall not be named has adopted that system and its so much better. Its not just ghetto players that find pasting every last op into pimp incredibly tedious.
Dont see the calc issue though. The game isnt designed to be played with a specially designed calculator. The idea is that your work that stuff out yourself. Most people are lazy and used calculators. If you think Angel is time consuming, clearly you've never had to calc a hit the proper way. Via pen and paper.
Also, alot of your ideas seem to be based of a logic that "I should be able to log in once in a blue moon and still win". Which is bad. The more active, dedicated players will always win, because its a game. That how it should work. The more time you put into something, the better you get. The better you get, the more likely you are to win.
Most people dont spend time on utopia because they have no life. Infact, they make real life sacrifices so that they can do thier best in game. For alot of utopia players, it is there main past-time.
Oh and incidently, yes. THis game IS math. Its always been math. All utopia basically is, is a bunch of numbers that you add/subtract/multiply etc. That by definition is mathematics.
