horses are good because they are free and are at no cost for you to maintain other than land investment.
optimizing a province with math is just doomed to fail because this is not a simulation, but a real time environment in which your province exists under.
-
Realest,
Agreed. However, since the game mechanics are based on (mostly) known equations and relations, math can be useful in knowing what general direction an "optimized" province lies.
-
An optimised province can be misleading though. We can all look at a nice static province running some homes and stables etc and agree its numbers are nice. this province could be useless though once war kicks in due to the nature of the buildings used. In war you have lots of land coming in and out, so buildings that take a while to give their full benefit, like homes and stables, are less useful than instant effect buildings, like TGs. This isnt to say that homes and stables should be avoided, but that it is best to try and consider how outside influences can effect your build. I wouldnt be real happy relying on buildings that take a couple days to give me benefits, or that have OPs that directly relate to removing their effectiveness.

I don't think anybody's said this yet...but...Bravo on the equation solution to a presented problem...I will say that I'm quite impressed.
If real life was as easy as equations we would be great!

OPA is what you wanna get, what you must know it your acres... hhartanto3
if you stick to the numbers it has to work.
-
Excellent points, Bishop.

optimization is useless. the important question is, can I break him? If not, you build whatever is necessary to make it happen.
-
Optimization is awesome for the one minute you can take a screen shot and stare at how awesome your province is. Other than that, pfft.

an "optimised" province (yes, im aussie, i spell it with a S, get over it...) has the following stats:
enough offense to break your target (dt?)
enough defense not to be double tapped back (or triple tapped vs orcs)
enough income to support growth
enough wpa and tpa to ensure decent success on my spells/ops and decent failure rates on incoming spells/ops (not so much now with success rates being really poor...)
