Woot its moving again! Its the little RP that could.
I need 2 days until my friend leaves, then I'll catch up with things here. Zran, before I accept you I want you to do a sample post (can even be your proposed intro post for Skysail).
Alright then I will post it in the IC then. *Begins writing, won't stop even if it takes him a year*
I have to say, Zran, that I am impressed with the great improvement since previous posts.
There is always room for improvement for ANYONE, as usual, but very good job nonetheless. ;) I hope to see you here for quite some time with us, growing in your literary skill from sapling to an aged and weathered oak.
:)
Not too weathered I hope...
In any case did my post fit with the plot? I hope so. If not there is always the all powerful Edit button.
So Gec should be back by tomorrowish by my time but then again it is only just past twelve am.
And yet another thing; is it T'a'u'weke, Ta'u'weke or Tau'weke? I'm very confused.
Just finished reading your post.
This could turn out very... interesting since my character would have none of it. And is there more gals than guys character wise? If so I could probably make a second character or just not kill Wintrow although he is a little... I don't know... well a lot badly thought out and plain silly to me and I created him what seems years ago. It was a few mere months ago wasn't it?
@Ren this is the final thing night folks.
nah keep wintrow. It would be interesting to have a half orc around on a leash.

accents ' after a consonant make's a sharp cut-off. ' before a vowel makes that vowel long. It's a way of manipulating a word's phonetics without changing the spelling. island nations tend to have less consonants and more vowels on earth. sort of based it off of that.
I finally worked out my password! Lol
So should I edit Wintrow's CS a little bit while I'm here (this will be the final time I use this account) so that I feel I can actually RP him.
just waiting for geco to return ;)
Same. Would love to get off the island.
He hasn't been on MSN for a long while.
Me too. If he hasn't posted by tomorrow morning I will go ahead and push into the temple.
Sorry everyone, that uninspired feeling I had before Christmas is still present. I had hoped the time away would help, but sadly it hasn't. It's gotten to that familiar point where I don't want the responsibility anymore, and just want to take some time off. I know it's lame, but that is the cycle I go through with URP.
I've spent the better part of the weekend and yesterday trying to decide if I should just stick it out or drop it all together. My heart tells me that with some encouragement I could probably continue for a short while, but before long I'll get that disinterested feeling again. In fact, even as I write this I feel a bit more motivated to try and just keep at it.
With that in mind, my solution is simple. I'll stay until we get off the island, but then I definitely am pulling back. I may not leave, but I can't be the driver. I want a backseat role for a bit and just go for the ride.
Again, my apologies for making you guys wait, but now that my piece is said, I'll focus on getting us off the island.
yeah I know the feeling Geco, and I think we all feel that we have "played out" the island and it's time to get us going again.
But I hope you do stay, if not as the driver at least as a player :)
I honestly feel removing ourselves from the island story arc will provide welcome refreshment. Travel to our next destination will give us time for character interaction that isn't depended on action or abbreviated scenes.
As a direct example, Cyra and Arch have come to know each other a bit and have reached the perfect time for a "turn of the page" so to speak. Time for chapter two, and nothing like returning to the skies and the initial objective to send us on our way.
I understand where you're at, but I don't think you need to step down from leading the thread. We've been driving much of the plot on our own, and it's nice when you step in to nudge us one way or push us along once you feel the scene has been played out (i.e. giving adequate time for interaction and progression, yet realizing we're waiting on someone to make a concrete decision. Sometimes it's hard to say "it is now night time" when it's not your thread). I guess I'm just saying is you can retain the spirit of the thread without having to be a slavedriver at the helm of the plot.
I do feel that there should be someone driving the objectives - giving us destinations to reach (even if they are simply ambiguous names or areas )and clear time benchmarks in which to forward the story. If truly you need respite from the task (which it is), I cannot blame you - but someone should take over so we don't find ourselves floundering.
That being said, you're character is the captain and leader, and you've set precedent for establishing who determines the course of action. See: Arch and Gabes scenes together. So when it comes to the current scene of the village coup, I understand why no one is stepping up to bark orders and get us moving. For as much as I want to write and post, I feel like my hands are tied.
Tis true, which is why it is doubtful that I will leave entirely, but I don't think I can drive the story for awhile, although I have to say, I am working on a post and as I read what had been posted during the past couple weeks I already started thinking about other plot lines and how many different places the story could go based on what everyone has contributed, and it did indeed feel invigorating.
I'm going to finish up my post here, and we'll just go with the flow from here.
EDIT: Sorry Z, forgot to respond to you. I agree, very much improved and it's great to see you back. I hope you can keep up that level of posting as a regular in the thread ^_^ Welcome back.
