I can indeed, I wrote an 8000 word post of good quality the other day for a Nations RP. Quick explaination basically you control a Nation as if it were your character. Since it is a whole nation you have a bunch of characters and I have many things going on. Which is why it was so long. Documenting a large scale battle is hard.
-
Ah yes... I remember the "nations" RPs we used to have here. Political Warfare and the such. Those were always fun.
-
Yes, I'm currently plotting world domination and I'm suppose to be one of the 'good guys'. =P. Now I'm keeping Wintrow on I shall assume he was keeping quiet like amyone raised by Orcs would to his elders.

good is a matter of subjective review. It might indeed be "good" to take over the world. At least, in intentions. However, let's say that america had not taken over iraq? Iraq was a bad situation, granted, but it was "good" that a man as evil as he were on the throne. At least, good in the sense that being the most evil, he had the other baddies under his thumb. America has unleashed the pandora's box by their so-called "good" intentions.
not that this is a political thread, but... you catch my drift. It's totally within bounds for your character to take over the world. Afterall, "good" and "evil" are points of view. Satan, no doubt, believes he is doing what is best for everyone. Including himself.
---------
Onto the meat of the matter.
I can tell in the frequency of the posts and the tonal changes of the thoughts that you're getting your swing back. What it takes to get out of a rut is not inaction. That drives the wheel further into the mud. No, it takes gentle movement and bold action.
If you want to remove Gabriel temporarily from the navigation charts (as it were), scarlet at least, I can offer a few options ranging from trauma induced coma to a touch of the experience arlen went through. My ideas may include but are not limited to the above, though.
Thanks all, for motivating him a little. ;)
Arch, I wouldn't mind sharing the load with you. My extended unemployment is driving me nuts... Thinking far too much about this thread and other projects. lol
edit:
Geco - you saw things EXACTLY as I had, as far as the village. I'm glad we're on the same page. I was figuring... well, nevermind. I'll hold my tongue for a bit until I see how the temple goes with Drice, seph, and arch. ;)
-
Okay so should my character be in Pu'kai's house? If so I shall edit.
-
Zran I think Rensha just gave you an opening where your character is outside in the village may have read that wrong though. Also I have to say that when we finally do get off this island we have left it open for a possible world war upon the ship as we fly to our next destination. I love the backstories and we seem to be building to some interesting confrontations between each character I look forward to and we still have other character boarding when we hit the next port...
-
Whoa! So much posting... alrighty then I guess I post.
-
Zran, I'm having trouble following your post. First, I'm not sure what 'bubble' you're referring to. If you mean to suggest Cyradis' defense, that was actually more of a vaccuum sucking in all the fire in front of the group. They weren't shielded outright, hence why Arlen recieved some burns.
Second, and more importantly, whose side exactly is Amateria on? At first she threatens to exile Pu'aki, then she turns and directs an attack at Weka'u. I'm very confused. Also, Cyradis merely put an enchantment on the spear. She did not actually launch an attack.
Last, but a minor detail, I don't think anyone on the island would be aware of the existance of mages. From what I could tell, they don't leave the island and the priesthood lives a rather secluded life, but I could be wrong. I suppose it's possible for them to have met outsiders peacefully before.
-
Oh I thought you meant it was like a protective bubble...
Amateira is on T'a'u'weke's side she heard Arlen tell Jasper to steal the stone she wants to save it. Which would be another reason for her to go with the ship.
And she doesn't know about mages only that you didn't have a fire stone and was channeling T'a'u'weke's power.
-
Well, seeing as how T'a'u'weke is in incorporeal extraplaner spirit with no actual proof o fhis existance, it was difficult, to say the least, to tell who she was supposed to be attacking.
Apparantly, she is attacking the crew of the Dawn. That's all I really wanted to know. It would simply look foolish if I posted tomorrow and didn't happen to mention her attacking. Anyway, till tomorrow then. I need some sleep.
-
Yeah well she realised the reason you were here. Likely Pu'kai already knew but...
-
also, Zran, he was saying it into Gabriel's ear. i think the thing most catching her attention would have been the thing with Weka'u and Pu'aki instead of arlen. Also how the spear was being enchanted and what not... haven't read IC yet, i'll make a post tomorrow regarding actions.
-
Ok... after reading posts from everyone, I'm a bit confused. Also, a few things for certain people.
Zran --> overall good, but please please please re-read everything you write before you post it. We all make a few spelling errors and such, but you make more than what I would consider the forgivable amount that it distracts from reading your posts. Also, you used the same line of description "Her inexorable walk" or something like that twice, which I'd say is a no no. Last thing, when Am shouts "Retreat everyone and comeback after whomever wins" is just a weird thing for anyone to say. Her being concerned for their safety is great, but telling them to comeback no matter who wins... no one would say that.
For All (but particularly Drice and Zran) --> the names are Pu'aki (the Chief/Father) and Weka'u (the Challenger/Son). It's just courtesy to spell names right.
Drice --> Did ou essentially make the entire group invisible? Cause that would look a bit weird. And beyond that it doesn't fit so well. The idea I was trying to get at was that we are no threat to the villagers and trying to expose the truth about Pu'aki. Cloaking us wouldn't do that. If it was just your two chars, then that's okay I suppose.
SoHee --> Can Jasper do magic now? How'd he remove the necklace exactly if not? My initial thought was that he'd walk around behind, materialize, and break it off. Also, what happened to Jade exactly? Arlen was burned because he was at the very edge of the fire, but Jade was definitely behind him, so the gravity well and shield should have kept her safe, no?
I'd love to post but I need some answers first.
-
in the case of your character Zran, I can see a lot of potential. I like the use of the firestone to manipulate fire. On a small scale, I can imagine that it would be useful to protect her, but not functionally battle Pu'aki. What she demonstrated is basically on the edge of what I would account as acceptable, but that's up to Geco. He didn't say anything about it necessarily, so i'm not either.
-------------
for all-
the amount of power a mage, or for that matter definitely Pu'aki, demonstrates would stun and shock ANY native. It would merely surprise OUR characters what pu'aki did because I'm sure the wars they've been in and carnage they've seen has amounted to a little more flashy displays, designed to destroy more than one opponent at a time.
The flames are not permanent, it was a wave. think of a ripple in a pond. Behind the wave, it's calm, and the wave distributes it's power as it spreads.
The bow bursting into flames was Pu'aki's doing, making sure she couldn't shoot him in the back. He's still mortal, after all. And smart. Just corrupt. It wasn't enchantment.
----------
Geco-
From what I gathered, I figured that it was her magical light balls, the Chenkari, that were veiled, and she was wondering if Cyradis alone would be able to see them. Not individuals alone.
-----------
SoHee/Geco- I didn't get the last paragraph, after cailey's blinding thing. And yes, I also assumed he would be able to get behind pu'aki and take it off. Was contact with the necklace supposed to be burning Jade and Jasper? And i'm guessing that Jasper just has telepathy, based on what ghosts presumably have in their arsenal.
-----------
All -
okie doke. Just remember, he's tied to the stone. It has to be destroyed before Pu'aki loses his powers. It might be best to leave most of the battle to Weka'u, if he is to be legit as elder.
-
I was under the impression we're trying to capture the magicite..not destroy it.
