If we're going FF then I'd like to respectfully request a change in class to Summoner. Thanks.

Please not FF... FF fans must die :D
Yikes. Someone is showing their youth.
I have played every FF game I just don't like it.
Subjectivity aside, I think you've somehow missed the brilliance of storytelling, music and design that stem from the minds of Kitase, Sakaguchi, Amano and Uematsu. I'm curious what constitutes talented world-building, character development, story arcs and... well, RPG's, in the southern hemisphere.
every ff game on ps2 or every ff back to NES? Ya know, I grew up on commodore 64, atari, NES, and intellivision.
My first rpg was FF2, followed by Fantasy Star 4 (best game for sega genesis bar-none).
Die-hard FF fan here Zran. :) We all are. :) Just not necessarily X-2 or many of the new titles... ^_-... 12 wasn't bad. I enjoyed it. The upgrade system was better than 10.

Either way, yes, the storytelling aspect of the games is quite... amazing. Few stories are consistently good or engaging when they are as disjointed as FF. I'm happy they're starting to link title stories together (FF Tactics and FF12 for instance. Crystal Chronicles and others.). I hope they make a sequel to FF7 some day, without ruining it. Advent children was a nice movie spin off. Didn't suck like FF spirits within nearly did (I didn't hate it, but it wasn't that great. Only thing i can think of that was rather bleh, aside from X-2. What a waste of time and money that was to develop. I tried to play it, I did. Just for the story of what happened to Tidus... I just couldn't do it though.)
well 'nuff about FF....
post!! :)
maybe we need Geco or Rensha to move things along with the natives...
True but I will admit that one of my most memorable threads was a tactics thread :-)
I agree drice. :)
yeah SoHee, I would appreciate Geco posting. I could post, but I don't run the show. Also... Amy (my wife) has almost sole control of the laptop while she writes her third novel (not for a publisher. it's her hobby. and no she doesn't want to join URP. lol. She can't wrap her head around the concept and is not interested in either fantasy or sci-fi, heheh.). So I have INTERMITTENT access... for now... she's 1/4 of the way through. probably will take her just a week or so. :)
although if geco doesn't post in 1 or 2 days from now, i'll post to keep things moving.
@Arctic, um I don't know but to be honest when I played most FF games I wasn't thinking about the story only the playing of the game.
@Ren I posted, there is a bit of dialogue between Arlen and Amateira, hope you don't mind, way I understood it he could speak the native language.
Yep, that's fine. On my anniversary. I'll post sometime.
One Skysail note: I did advance the scene, but didn't necessarily mean to eliminate interaction between the evacuation of the hut and the short journey to the Dawn. Also, the discussion of magicite doesn't necessarily preclude the very idea of a resident deity - basically I didn't mean to step on your toes, Rensha. That being said, I very much enjoyed your post.
actually, it worked rather well. He's an atheist. ;) He's been struggling with the thought something might have been invading his mind, where he's just been drugged with something akin to refined magicite (see: earlier posts, where he communed with T'a'u'weke in hallucination) and just now getting rid of the side effects. (after 3 days)
that's the story I'm sticking to. You did me a service. ;)

On another note. Gave you something to work off of Zran, feel free to do some talking. I just noted where she was silent, she could very well say things between and on the way. Feel free to have Arlen speak back where you need it, within reason.
SoHee - As we agreed. I left it up to you though whether he was there as a watcher or participant, or there at all. Also, I left it up to Zran to see Jasper (or some other whisp) flutter through the wall, or if it were hallucination.
Anyone else - sorry if i messed anything up for you. Not my intention. I want off the island. ;)

Arc - one last note. Thanks for the compliment, I always enjoy yours. Quite nice to sit back and listen to technical details of airship and magicite from flashbacks. My posts have been long enough without flashbacks. I've been trying to limit it to simply thoughts from arlen based on unwritten flashbacks. In this case, he had no choice but to relive a particularly painful experience (still not sure EXACTLY where I want it, and when... but I'm narrowing it down.). He relived all of his experiences, but somewhat quicker than that one, and in less detail. Did you like the magitek soldier there, in his daydream though? :)
Arlen has Weka'u's experiences as well, but he'll still stay Arlen. He's lived his life that he won't exactly forget which memories are his, and which are just information. Most of it will be irrelevant anyway, really. Most of it. Some of it though (hunting and such) would be invaluable. ^_- Actually, I just thought of a really good idea. :) Heheheheh.... Geco, you ready for a cog to be thrown in your machine? :) ^_^ just a slight one. :)
@Ren the way I understood your post was that Arlen Wek'au and Ama were in a circle with Arlen and Wek'au the main people in it. Would it be possible for Ama to grasp a knowledge of common?
