Withdrawing with a nice acre gain beats staying in war and having the other kd take some back.
It is only natural that once you have gained land the other kd's provs are more pumped than your own fat ones, and will start to take them back and become fatter themselves, and then it turns around again bla bla bla
I didn't read the whole thread because theres too many discussions going on about it, but id say well done VT2 on knowing when to pull out.
If a 'cool' kd does a 'strategic withdrawal' they are applauded for it. It counts more what people think of you, whether they think you won or not.
i completely agree, the withdrawal was the right move, but from what ive read hes not willing to admit it there might have been a turn around.
his reasoning is he got bored or there was nothing left to gain.

Well I checked the CE of the war the last few days, his Kingdom could not win this because of Sully's unbreakables. I'm surprised he won the minds of the people, since his Kingdom withdrawal's was so obvious because of their poor strategical choices over the course of the war. Expected loss overall.
And there's Toadi, ignoring the facts, as always.

On the "****load" of acres VTnub gained: that war was about prestiege not acres. Vtnub withdrew, by that he showed that he can't overcome Sully's kingdom. Sully won the prestiege, VTnub can go home with the acres. Believe me, it's much easier to get acres than prestiege.
The fact that VTnub is spamming the forum with his bragging, means exactely zero. We all took CE's and we know what happened. As I posted before his WD, VTnub had a slim chance winning the war. The best he could do was to withdraw to avoid loosing acres too, beside prestiege.
VTnub's attitude, for me, resembles to those physically challenged (or having other illness) who are pinned down into their home, their only window to the world being a computer and who accumulated a lot of frustration and anger, those who blame the world for what happened to them, so they unload all their bitterness on everybody else, trough a media where they can't be identified, so they finally feel secure.
(Do not try to pick apart the above sentence. It should be understand as a whole, taking parts of it out and commenting them separately makes those comments null. It's not a rant against physically impaired. It's not a statement that all physically impaired are like that. It's just how VTnub sounds.)

Since I've been where I currently am we've had a "no cheating rule." The kingdom has been built on defects and newbs. I can't honestly say if I knew for sure that the defects didn't trade their accounts in their old kingdom before coming to us, but we've had a no cheating rule. We were able to gain players because active people want to play for us. People liked the idea of doing 2x plunders/learns a day OOW and 2-3 attacks a day in war.
Because your kingdom had to cheat to keep its players motivated to play for them doesn't mean everyone had to even in this day and age.

Sweetipie's continous yapping and her long grudge against Catwalk is based on the fact that CW openly admited to have traded, wich in her eyes was something like a blasphemy. Now days CW is atleast truthfull about it (more then we can say about you) and he is slowly getting some of the repect back due to his work showing new players the way (might be for own benefit, but that is beside the point).

Not correct. I played for 5 rounds in 3 kingdoms without cheating. First two kingdoms as a normal player, third kingdom is the above mentioned that I built from scratch. I did trade in one player into the last kingdom, for the first time. Not for my sake, but because he had just failed to take over a kingdom from an incompetent monarch and was losing interest in Utopia. I felt sorry for him and would like to give him a positive experience. After two rounds in that kingdom I got frustrated with internal tensions that I was unable to handle, and decided to accept an invitation from Pleasure Palace. Both because I wished to compete at a higher level, and because I wished to relinquish leadership responsibilities to play as a normal player again. As irony would have it, the monarch then went missing in action a week after my arrival and I was thrust into a leadership position which eventually led to me taking over Fight Club.Quote:

As stated above, this is not correct. I have never lied about my doings in Utopia. If you're referring to a multi incident, that was according to the express wishes of the monarch of the other kingdom, a small warring kingdom without achievements. The story about that is that I got deleted in Fight Club because of poor trading (done before my arrival) and decided to take a province in the kingdom of a close friend, not expecting a Danish account to become available and not knowing anything about proxies at the time. I was still leading my kingdom during this period. I played in the other kingdom for 2 rounds before finding out about proxies, and decided to return when there was an opportunity. I did run two provinces for about half a round while deciding what to do, not happy with the arrangement and feeling trapped in dual obligations. And not enjoying having to manage two provinces either, sucked pretty bad at both. Maybe that's when I started losing interest in province management.Quote:

I do not consider it immoral from a game perspective to play in two kingdoms, if they're kept strictly apart. The game does not suffer from it. I do consider it immoral from a KD perspective to have divided loyalties, and I have never tolerated anyone in my kingdom playing in two kingdoms. Quite a few have asked over the years.
As for why I changed my stance on trading, I'll post about that later as I'm getting ready to go out. I still believe in fair play and sportsmanship, and I still maintain many of my reservations about the effects of trading on the game.
