42 was 200k troops behind Sparta at end of notice. We've now completely closed that troop gap, as expected, and we still have 2x their peons. Sparta opened with razes on pretty much all our top provinces, with our troops home. Losses were expected, but we can retrain while they can't.
Dragfon situation?
Be interesting if Spartans mwpa advantage will beat ze econ while mil is equal.

I'll gladly admit that our prep was a ****show. I don't micro anymore and only just returned home after being 2 days away. Still doesn't explain how a prov go from 3.5K to 7K and fully train up in 3 days. Our banks had to stack for days to reach that pump level (and without doubling their size).

Most of all it was a wpa issue
IIRC, the pandas provs fae came OOW with around 8k GCPA (it's not that hard, especially for a fae in war with high base peons -- 4 mana/tick and tog is massive). They were below median, so explore costs would have been pretty small, leaving them with ~20M gc before whatever they earned + togged in 3 days. For toggers, with 7 days prep (4 days eow + 3 days fort) you could reliably get to -5 PPA without exploring w/ a fair amount of dragon gc or for conflict gc. Cheap non-toggers could generally get to around -3. With exploring, -2 PPA was doable, depending on costs. Losing 1 day prep from EOW should mean it's still viable.Quote:

To be honest, it was the obvious play and you should have expected it. They had no reason to not dump their pool, and it should be recognized that for sub-median provs with at least ok cash, exploring pre war results in more total military even if less mil/acre.
for what it's worth, I'm pretty sure the two big mistakes by pandas thus far:
1) not training ospecs instead of thieves on those rogues -- sorry, two rogues by themselves aren't likely to bring down your cows that are likely stacked with WTs. With 3 OSPA they could farm land from your upper core reliably in war and gain peon space for tog.
2) Bouncing instead of breaking with razes/in range trads on your core. Actually, not entirely sure what their gameplan was there. A 99% bounce (and I'm assuming it's high send bounces) is like 1/3rd the kills of a break.
Biggest mistakes by spartans:
1) Not going HAM with land hits. You've hit for like 500a. If they had razed instead of bouncing on your core, you'd have lost almost all your peon space and be in really bad shape.

It comes down to Barts ego and trying to keep it in tact. He thinks Spartans are the best kingdom in Utopia. But yet he loses every fair/real war. So he fake wars or puts his opponents at such a disadvantage that they can't win. Hence why he sent Jesters to block for him and then he could vulture notpandas. Now his ego is taking a blow by losing this conflict and now the excuses begin. I would probably guess the only kingdom getting outside aid is the Spartans. Using un founded accusations to justify them getting outside aid.
Forti is really strong at large sizes with high homes/banks. It's pretty easy to prep a province's military quickly for war. WPA is the thing that actually takes some time.
And if notpandas was robbing gold outside relations their gains would suck completely from size differences + out of fort robbing. Not to mention they'd need a partner with hundreds of millions of gold lying around that they'd be willing to part with.
What I wonder is why didn't sparta use an explore into fortify as well. Were they completely out of pool acres? If so they should have whore waved and prayed no one was going to take it personal. Their military advantage should be much more than it was if they just pumped properly.
Early summary is there are only 3-4 active crowned players in the game currently?

I think a lot of tops take pump sessions as routine. When I was with Pyro the pump was fairly well controlled, but I'm an active with a mentality toward overview. Nesta was a well ordered mind and pump strategy is something I think came to him easily. Sparta is fairly new up top and while the knowledge may be there the experience isn't. They may not project "medians" as Zauper, for instance, explains like turning the light off in a closet.Quote:

why is pandas returning raze waves with bounces on top level core which are the only core in their upper core's NW range? Either bounce down the banks or farm the core. bouncing the core seems crazy bad.
Looks like BB should win the age cause emeriti went with donk human banks in an age where you don't have to pay for science, now that spartans and pandas are running a hostile strategy that doesn't care about gaining land.

It's probably most realistic that us and Pandas are just going to destroy each other with no winners (even the winner would be a loser). Then it is between Emeriti and BB to decide the age.
I don't see it that way. What's so special about pumping in whoring tier against pumping in warring tier? If anything while I was playing in FS I pumped way deeper because when an even war is arranged the only edge over your opponent you can personally achieve is pumping out the most out of the piece of land you have. Whoring is more about oow play as in finding the right targets and things like that while the LS has to monitor the intricate CF deals - their terms and expiration dates. Sure a bit more strategy is involved in whoring conflicts simply because the competition is stiffer but that changes nothing for the regular grunt. My point is a good active warring tier grunt, after learning the basics of what constitutes a good whoring target, will outperform a "pro slacker" any day. Reasons for failure should be found in the competence of the LS, KD structure, overall discipline and similar. That is not to say that someone is incompetent but that there will always be someone who holds a slight edge.Quote:
