why give a notice at all? not being a asshat for once. i seriously want to know. cf ends why not just attack?
no no no son. you have to prenotice the notice of hostilities. thats how it works. :)
As I understand it the point of notices initially were to allow kd's the ability to sit oow and not force them to war when cf ran out(since if notice was given you could switch then). However, with the stock requirements being pretty much limitless notices are really now just a way of making sure you don't get vultured(or AS vultured) directly oow.
Notices let you pump on lower draft, explore freely, and play more "relaxed" as they allow you to know in advance who is coming for you and when and gives you time to prepare. In short they make everything more predictable. On the other hand early age there are no notices so you constantly have to be alert monitoring other kingdoms/in range provs for killers and cows so its a more intensive and unpredictable game style. Without notices everyone would be constantly drafted up and rotating in and out of fort. Personally I like notices because they let you switch gears between relaxed and uptight modes of play.
And yes you are right when duration cf expires they give you added cushion when you come out of a conflict so you are not immediately engaged and have more time to recover.
Notices benefit some more than others obviously, people who require sci pump etc. to execute their strategy will want them more as opposed to kds like sleepy who force wars and do fsu throughout age.
There is nothing wrong with notice in general, it's the morons who think that notice issued = entitle you to hit the kd you sent to regardless of the options for fights your target has available.
Notices don't really do that anymore though proteus because pump requirements are so high by late age. If I am pumping to 33 military/acre and that will take 8 days of stocking and 4 days of drafting/swapping/training then whether the notice is 24 hours or 48 hours it doesn't really matter. The advantage of 33-34 military/acre over someone who would go from sci pump to war build(even if they do have a little stock of say 2kgcpa) within a 48 hour notice is astronomical.
Ultiamtely right now you pretty much need to be ready by time cf is up no matter what since you'd have to do all of these things before notice period anywase. That's why i was saying only practical effect of it seems to be to limit eowcf vulturing(which i do think is important though).
i jumped over 136 pages and this thread seems nub.
I think 2) is harsh to say about Drixx considering he approached you before the whole conflict to try and not make the GB happen. If your demands during negotiations were anything to go by during the Pre-GB I can see why the GB didn't get stopped.
Just like any negotiations you make one and the other party counter offers it. When one side refuses to come to the negotiation table talks die down fast.
It is good it is over though and hopefully we can move on from it and improve the play in the top next age. I really would like to see the top land/nw kingdoms come together to set up appropriate definitions etc with suitable punishments should any be broken whereby all agree to help to police it. This might bring an end to alliances if people are aware the top will action **** play and won't feel the need to have "back up" to not be bullied etc.
+1
Not so much for what you are saying ( but you bring up valid points), yet how your manor has improved in conversation in these forums.
Please continue to talk in a respectful manor, and you will find people will judge you on what you are saying, instead of how you are saying it.
Its not harsh considering how much time i spend last age for find Diplo solution and how easy you decide to GB us. If you think last age Drixx made any compromise, not he dont. WE accepted all his demands but no one ended GBed.
p.s.
only munk made really effort for end it after our war with rage. Its why we manage to make CF.
I don't normally bother calling out spelling but. In this situation, Dark Knight, you mean "manner," not "manor."
I can no longer comment on the original topic, but the war I see you post I disagree.
It's safe to say, all the top has had been ****played one time or another over the last 3 rounds, so tension on this subject was already high.
Your actions really effected the crown.
Without action, how many more acres would u have taken, another 2-3 waves?
Would have crowned easy...
I'm really glad it is over, and it holds into next round.
Diplo should be more complicated than it has been over the last 4-5 ages.
Edit: Been drinking...
Well, you were drinking :P
The GB was not decided as easily as you think... From when AMA deal broke to when the GB took place, all whom was involved were discussing if there was a way out to prevent the GB. Drixx originally declined CR's request for help etc if you didn't know already.
In regards to Munk being the person to msg you, it is because it was agreed upon by all the parties involved for him to be the middle man. There was no point in having you being messaged by a representative from all parties involved so to claim only munk was making an effort was a bit meh. What you and munk spoke about was being relayed to the GB-channel to agree just like you probably was relaying to your council.
Yeah I have to disagree that I carry any higher weight than others. I spent some hours talking to elit -- but it was all while being in contact with everyone else. I saw many compromises made many places that were hard.
For my own part, acting like a middle-part can't be compared to the kind of sacrifices others made.
You choose the most level headed, diplomatic person to play the middle man. Because it's the smart thing to do. When you have as many in the group as the gb had, tempers flare, some are naturally abrasive and hostile, and you get nothing accomplished. And munk is sexy... so he was the perfect choice for middle man. And the middle man isn't an easy job because you're trying to mediate between so many people and find the best possible solution for all involved.
Pump requirements do not invalidate the point i am making because first not everyone pumps to 33mpa which is not even sustainable for many setups and styles of play. Majority of top kds with current mechanics will spend a bigger majority of the age fighting as opposed to pumping but when they do pump having notice allows for greater flexibility.
You be the judge:

What if Elit speaks perfect English IRL and this is all an elaborate troll?
Evidence to support this theory:
- I've known him for 3 years and his English hasn't improved at all.
- There are at least 4 other bulgarians in AMA and none of them are as bad at English. Did he go to an inferior school?
Since there is still the desire to run off topic in other threads, Let me explain to some people here how this thread is not a deal break. I've explained 4 million other things in this thread and the other big one about FPA that have gone ignored (like Hypocrisy), so what's one more?
The open of this thread explains a kingdoms intent to notice when they have the ability to. It explicitly says:
You can argue til you are blue in the face that this is a deal break, but they DID NOT serve notice. What I am saying is fact, and cannot be disputed. The rest beyond this can.
The argument that may be discussed is the "dibs" part of this, where CR felt it acceptable to say "So please don't make other plans", and later went on to say "We will hit you no this date". However, with it being near impossible for AMA to engage another kingdom prior to CR waving on the exact date that they claimed they would, this is NO different than AMA saying that they were going to notice Pyro on JAN01YR9 and hit Pyro on the same date CR said they would wave. The ONLY reason AMA thought this was lame is because AMA did not want to be a willing participant in this conflict. I will further this to say that AMA believed that meant that if they waved Pyro, CR would clearly 2v1 (which was also heavily indicated by some CR players). The reality is that the only way AMA could have waved Pyro is if they changed their deal. Otherwise there would have been NO ACTIVE HOSTILE for CR to hit into and it WOULD NOT have been a 2v1.
AMA had EVERY RIGHT to be upset with CR's attitude. IMO, that is the ONLY reason AMA deal broke, despite the gazillion spins they threw on this. You're free to disagree, but that is, again, my opinion.
And he is also too busy losing chess games to learn English :D
P.S. Just messing with ya Elit i know u do great at tournaments and stuff. As long as you are not playing vs a 9yo :D
It's good elit is a bit noob at English. Now we can atleast make some fun of him. :)
