Everyone should listen to the people who say that you shouldn't listen to them.

There are plenty more people to listen to than that, and Im a nub compared to greenie / DH. I ask them for advice, as well as Bishop, Clarey. Its suprising how many people on these boards know their ****, but few will actually give out sound advice.
Realest is a prime example. He clearly has knowledge of the game, but generally, unless you get him on irc, he wont help "his farmland".

People don't like giving the most powerful hints to players who could, potentially, be their enemies later on.

No, no - the key to being number one is to cheat a lot, and make sure you're friends with the Utopian mafia, AKA Absalom, so they allow you to be number one, simply by virtue of not attacking you at all through the age.
VT2, i assume you don't really know what the key to being number one is, since you infer that Sonata are friendly with Abs kds, i doubt realest is very buddy buddy with them since sanc broke an eoa nap to wave them last age.
The key is to be scary enough that people you aren't friends with will NAP you to protect themselves.
