Hardly. We're just motivated. I routinely wake up at 3:30 am for coordinated waves. Don't blame us for your poor province management.

Damn, wish they put up something like a War Forum in the game, oh wait...
I have a feeling we warred and reported docs last age for that exact issue. Might have been another KD though.
As an Australian, I have known the pain of 3am wavetimes.
Although it's not really honourable to attempt to kill provs, you have no excuse whatsoever for letting your province die. We had two players in our KD prove that this war, it was quite impressive.
Also, Congrats to Spartans for the win. Hopefully we can go in on more even ground next time!
OMG. all those posts.. well its not too bad to get hope too high. good job to both kds :)
P.S. Heaven wanted to tell hipmunks their biggest mistake was they reneged a deal made with him. anyways, its just amazing how he made the deal, planned war strat, facilitate wave when hes not even in Sparta :) and sorry i didnt post those logs and msgs you badly wanted me to post; that would have been a bad move.
Hey I know you hate me and hipmunks, but I was the one that reported that kd. I remember I messaged you (or your monarch) in game congratulating you on the war win after the were mehul'ed. We warred them earlier in the age (and won) but noticed massively obvious xlogging.
Small world!
We didn't reneg a deal, the deal was just logistically impractical so Child was forced to change the terms. Hipmunks gave you an extra 2 days to grow to the amended acre cap. Growing is ALWAYS better than taking 4k acres in landdrops, so what you might call a "reneg" is actually just a better deal for you.
But anyways, that's been over already. It wasn't hipmunks not living up to war terms, it was a combo of bad war terms that I initially agreed to as I had one foot out the door at the time. Hipmunks knew they had a 90% chance of losing at war declare but did it anyways, if that's dishonourable then I don't think I know the definition of the word.
Congrats to Spartans, was a fun war for me to watch and I know the guys learned a few new tricks!
It was an awesome fight, both sides fought very well.
Not personally arguing against you Swagger, but Spartans had to grow a buttload which affected wpa and required huge amounts of gold to build up, train troops to fit the new land limits.
We were first waved by Hipmunks when we were ~39k acres and they were 44k. When war was declared, we were ~ 48k and hipmunks ~49k. Having to grow so much in a relatively short span of time is not that good/easy as it seems. Personal anecdote was that my province was very well prepared for war with 4rwpa ( Hybrid attacker ), and having to grow cut it down to 3. This was not to mention the headaches from having to train elites for the new acres. I don't want to go into depth the original/amended war terms since it is already over.
Anyway, very nice fight on both sides!
All I am saying is in the last 4 ages we have made no enemies. We average about 8 wars an age and win or lose we show a lot of respect to our opponent. The only problem we have had was with Docs because they cheated (thanks for the war win Hipmunks, you guys are cool now..hehe). Now Ascension has not only PK'ed three of our guys, but they taunt us with their banners and in the war forums(yes I am deleting them). I am not saying they are Docs, I am just saying they act like them. Not cool at all.
Anyways, most of my kingdom did not want to fight Ascension. After terms were agreed, they grew to 2k acres and 350k more NW more than us, and my kingdom wanted to back out. I talked to their monarch on Whatsap and he seemed really cool, explaining that when u make terms u should put a growth cap in (lesson learned). I basically talked my kingdom into warring Ascension by explaining how I gave my word, and how in the worst case scenario we would learn from them like we learned from getting rolled by Seagulls, Divinity and others. They agreed, but unlike Divinity and Seagulls, they did not kick our butts and then give us advice and tips, instead they killed off 3 of our guys and taunted us.
I don't think I will ever have a kingdom like Ascension. I cannot get 25 guys to log on at the same time, and I will not ask them to piss off their wives by setting alarm for 3am so they can make a wave, or to stay online 17 hours. Since I consider them my friends, I will not ask them to leave the kingdom so I can try and find someone who will be online 17 hours a day. Instead, we will keep trying to play with the cool kids in Utopia and avoid the bullies that will beat us up and laugh at us and call us names.
Congrats to you Ascension! You guys are one of the better kingdoms we have warred against. Good luck the ROA.
Yea, there are definitely detriments to growing, but there are also much (better imo) benefits. You guys had the flexibility to know EXACTLY what size Hipmunks provinces would be at, so you could customize your acres to wherever was most useful to you. You took advantage of that and secured your dwarf/elf banks/turtle hitters.
Thanks god I'm a bachelor and working 16hour shifts now as a shift supervisor at work so I have access to computer and Utopia all the time :)
Also, I like playing "hardcore"(sleepless nights, waking up at 3am etc.) when warring, I'm always dedicated fully to the game I'm playing.
We usually do give tips after the war is over, we had war terms as to when we would start. Gambatte sent an attack ~10 hours prior to our agreed start. He also learned the chained provinces, the first two pk we didn't really help along, when your monarch logged off he had 13 peasants, we thought for sure he'd see it. the third pk we did on purpose.
You had a week to grow ~200 acres per province, don't make it seem too hard lol
And you can cancel out the "being waved" part of the equation as hipmunks took a lot more hits from CR than we did on you guys.
But you guys did straight up prep better than Hipmunks, there's no denying that.
This is a less than honest portrayal of events. Here are some highlights (I'm not going to address every issue here): The biggest issue is you guys chopped our t/m pre hostilities against our agreement; then you obliged us to give you the button in fort. To your credit you did actually keep your end as far as pushing the button. Misc other issues from your end was you learned us, I think its a bad idea to do learns against a kingdom unless your winning; especially if your wanting to keep things friendly. Lastly, you had made hollow and empty threats against us in the war forum.
Bah, let it go guys, all he said, she said, both sides are going to feel justified in their actions based on real or perceived injustices. WO, you're not our enemy. It was a hard fought war, you guys did a good job. Our banner game is part of the fun. You can either play with us or feel slighted, you decided upon the latter, that's your call. Playing utopia doesn't require you to wake at 3am for wave times, we're just dedicated to the craft and it doesn't make us multis, we're here to play hard ball, nothing more. It was a fun war and we hope you got something out of it as well.
Congrats to both Spartans and Hipmunks for that long tough war.
Any summaries? I observed that while Hipmunks was busy hitting some of Spartas tms the latters dwarfs and an elf keeps growing strong and later it was obvious that theyre going to take the big lead again soon. Also Hipmunks nw keeps dropping even their tms. Were there massacres made by those Spartan dwarves?
The Docs after their deletions got dropped into more ghetto territory. They waved my kd but when I prolonged the hostilities and played the meter well they cf'd. And they were nice but I did forgot to ask why lots of them got deleted earlier. Lol!
No offense because I like you guys, but you do do learns in war. Maybe not you personally, and I respect that. But in fact it's why I like warring you guys: no BS. If you fight Spartans it's for real.
What else I like about Spartans is your guys can fight outside the pack. I've dueled with a couple, alone in the field, and you're very solid. I make it my business to isolate provinces and most others wilt one-on-one.
Congratulations!

Edit: hipmunks made a lot of cqs
This was definitely a good war, made it to 6 days! A fine example too showing how nw wins war despite being behind on acres.
Yup, Spartans won this in the pre-war preparation. That's probably our KD's biggest weakness and from what I saw one of Spartans biggest strengths. Simply too good for us in that regard, no question there!
And once we got through diplomacy tensions, they're all turned out to be pretty cool people.
I just wish Heaven would have buggered off and let us win the war! ;)

Great war, congrats to Spartans. They had the better gameplan and execution, and deserve the win. We did what we could despite the long odds, and I'm proud of our kd for putting up a good fight. All the best to the Spartans, maybe we'll meet again sometime in the future!
I've always been of the mindset that learns are fine in war. If you get mad that someone is utilizing a game mechanic, it's probably because it is effective.
I get mad as all hell when I get learned in war, but I can't deny that it's effective in certain circumstances.
Ascension has a very good core playerbase and I'm really looking forward to warring them this age. Not calling you out, just saying if it happens.
Looking forward to it. I think it's more of a when it happens vs "if" it happens. Should be a good one.
