DDodge: fw isn't an issue im concerned with for undeads. Balancing a race or taking a nerfbat to them because of some illegal game behaviour isn't going to happen.
Some people seem to think FW is allowed. Fake war is against the rules. There is one, and only one, reason I don't action people because of it and that is because a developer said it is not to be actioned without an announcement.Quote:

If Sean and Brian decided to delete a kd right now for being in a fake war, they would be totally in the right for doing so and there's not a thing that the kds could say in their defense (aside from the whole "We'll tell you before we start policing fake wars" thing)
So devs can delete whenever they want but when we report FW abuse we get back "nothing" -how does that work
You can report someone for jaywalking and the cops will prolly call you stupid. 9/10 times a cop won't give you a ticket(or even a warning) for jaywalking.
That doesn't mean it isn't against the law.
I understand the general frustration towards the lack of action on abusing fake wars, but where do you draw the line? If you claim it's people abusing fake wars, then people will just claim that fake wars itself is abuse, which is true.
well thats a silly argument, you have already drawn an arbitrary line at before fw and after vm abuse, you can easily move the line to abusing fw via hit and run or UD free hitting.
Eliminating FW shouldn't happen without a viable "surrender" option. Get rid of Aggressive stances double meter points and give it some other drawback, and at 25 hits the other side can "surrender" and get a 2 week CF.
Only problem with the above is that it appears to really suck for failcows, but thats only .01% of the players and cowing should be stopped anyways for a variety of reasons with a more exponential explore cost formula.
No one in a good kingdom earns the GC to pay for the elite losses you suffer on attacks when hitting out of fakewar. Most hits are something like 36-48h of income to retrain lost elites. When pumped most people have problems paying wages.Quote:

I'm only just returning but what I remember Fake Wars was hard to judge properlly so not much action was ever taken, if anything it would be the game mechanic which changed to discourage "fake wars".
What was a war for anyway? Gaining land? Gaining Honour(reputation)? Showing some "bully" that you wont bend over and take it like a rent boy? What determins if a war is "fake" or not?
I could of swore Mehul made some comments about this a few years ago (before I left), I could of swore tho that nobody really cared either, they was a bit more concerned about there own kd rather then what joe bloggs is doing in some other random kd. Most wars I can recall either was mutually agreed on the war terms or you look to beat the sh*t out of each other, sometimes it was the mutual agreement to stop after X period of time and land gain/loss orother times it could of been the 48 hours of warring then X hours of "rebuilding" and then what is that war? A real one which turns into a fake one? Common sence for making sure you aint feed when you leave a war by using politics and getting the other kds agreement to stay in the war for an extra day or 2.
What I'm kinda saying is that it has been near impossable to give a defenate answer on what a "fake" war is and is not, depending on the situation and the individuals to if a paticular case is "fake" or not. If there are cases where a kd is abusing the war system to the point it drastically bugs the hell out of other players then (iirc) that is when action use to take place, otherwise you can say that wars are real training/practice wars with friends.
Unless we define what a real war is we'll always have "fake" war issues, with the way wars can be faught for near enough any reason IMO it makes it near impossable to regulate with a "rule".
Agree with you Midoki, and there is many different situations when one kd can go in Fwr.
You can be GBed from Few kds, your kd can be double hostile from 2 kds, KD x can broke his deal with KD Y for wave them unprepared. Raze killing province/bully from big kd vs small kd. There is so many different scenarios when you can be forced to run in Fwr dont matter if you want or not. Utopia is not against AI its vs Humans and they are evil all :)
Better to boot them out of war and give every player involved 2-3 days suspension. That would stop FWs pretty fast :PQuote:
