Stop posting locs jdorje.
You're lucky Palem got here first.
Thanks for the updates jordje. They're far more frequent than Anri's, and generally more interesting with the information and estimations provided.
jdorje, simians need every adv that they can get to beat sanctuary. even then they are barely winning :P
Simians is not as of this time barely winning. Acres are very close, with pool and land lust, and networth is slightly to sanc's favor on the first wave and dead even since then. Of course this could change at any time.
At risk of revealing too much of our strategy, I'll give some more info. Simians has a number of out-of-range large provinces, but none are unbreakable. Gains on them however would be extremely low due to nw diff. The avians (evil peanut and kandall) have been fireballed and have extremely low military and peasants. The elves (mystics) pose more problem, having formidable wpa despite their lack of economy otherwise. At one point fikon was chained down to 3000 acres, however his wpa was such that he land lusted and hit his way back up and we thought it Unwise to touch him more at that time. The military on all their bigs though is quite poor, and they aren't really our problem. Over the last 12 hours peanut has been dropped to about 3500 wizards.
Provinces "in the pack" are generally the ones that hit for the most acres, and these are the ones providing the most hitting power for both sides. But these are hard to disable because the "pack" is fairly small at this point and there aren't enough in-range hitters available to do a good chain. Those who are available are spread out, and doing slowchains drops networth too fast. So chaining has been rather ineffective for both sides over the last few waves. The chained provinces have been alternately trying different strategies of quadding and doubling...simians does have sanc provinces down to 0 defense but some of these can still quad even against the simians chained guys all home. We try not to get elites killed unnecessarily, but use them to die off in hits and get credits we can save up for later :).
At war start sanc's cow was hitting for about 250 acres a day. This is up to 700 acres now, substantially less than simians big guys are hitting for, so most likely this isn't much of a factor. Simians has about 350k max offense and the cow has 1.3m throne def so "taking down the cow" seems unlikely.
Both sides, as I said, have been land lusting. From simians this is mostly coming from their faeries. Sanc's done trad march hits on simians faeries, which they try to recover via land lust. In that way we've negated some of their faeries magery ops but at a cost of land. Three of the simians faeries were hit down pretty well and are easily breakable; the other two are unbreakable and growing steadily. All three sanc t/m faeries are unbreakable. Long term since there are a lot of unbreakable faeries, it may come down to whoever can get more acres on their faeries fastest. Which is a really bizarre way to war, but probably good for both kingdoms later in the age since having big t/ms is pretty helpful.
Sanc's rogues are aw'ing regularly now. At war start they were unprepared and only able to get about 2 tpa since they were focused on not getting massacred or chained. Now that's a bit higher and opping enemy avians and elves is pretty easy.
And you are unlucky you got to me first when i did a honest misstake and posted loc in our summary. Its not like people dont know where Simians and Sanc is located.
You mods treat people differently it seems. Some gets banned for it, others doesnt.
The way i counter that will be by force ingame Dharan. Remember that!
Anri you posted a loc 16 minutes after and 1 post below me telling someone else to not post locs in this same thread, and you're a regular user who knows the rules. I will ban someone every time for ignoring rules, intentional or not. And of course mods treat people differently, we're people not robots. Palem didn't know I had already spoken directly to jdorje about locs, otherwise he may have responded differently.
And if you come at me ingame over me being a mod and doing what I'm supposed to do, that's just sad.
Gangbang at dharan's place. God save the troll king!
I dont read half of what people says in here. I have interest in a few posters only. I did not see that and i certainly am making a honest misstake if i forget to remove locs.
Is it really that sad Dharan? How will i counter your bann of 24h? Give you the 24h notice straight oow? I dont know dude. You bann me for silly **** i wave you for silly ****.
Seems more then fair to me...
Watch out DHaran, the Troll King is putting on his kick ass boots!
Really now, isn't the loc rule a bit... archaic and obsolete? Any half-brain can use the rankings page and click a link.
Interesting war. Hope it drags on ^^
Dorje, thanks for your information posts about the war. I like to read them.
There is just one fact i need:
Sanctuary: 89k acres start of war
Simians: 85k acres start of war
Sanc now: 84k acres
Simians now: 86k acres
I am not willing to give away to much info but Dorjes latest post pretty much said everything about the war. But i have some more tactics in the back of my head.
Who really cares about these rules though at this point? Do the devs really care about a 20 page thread about simians and sanctuary where the locations of both simians and sanctuary are included.
I'm aware these are rules, but at some point they become really incredibly stupid rules. And that point was crossed as soon as both kingdoms tagged.
I suppose my question being, which person really cares about it in this instance. I would think moderators would be able to have discretion on which locs are reasonable to post and which are not.
Am curious why the fearies are AW'ing the big avians. What are Simians Elves doing? If the pack is as you say it is where neither side can chain, it would seem the entire key to the war is which side can effectively fireball/MS/Tornado eachothers pack. One would think Simians' elves would be able to fireball 120 NWPA orcs that grew in war fairly effectively. Right now it appears as if Sanc is sitting on like 10-13 Peasants per acre, and if you can't chain that away you have to fireball it away if you have 5 fearies and elves.
putting blanket ban just makes it consistant... else you'll get people going "why cant i post loc of kd xyz but can of ABC?"
just because a well known kd is tagged doesnt give people the right to post locs... imagine if/when your kd isnt in top 50, would you like people posting your location?
_greenie!
idc about anything else in thread. <3
If you have two well known kingdoms actively participating in a 20 page thread about a fight between the two kingdoms and both kingdoms are tagged they should be free to post their location. Things being consistent are done when its needed to make things easier. It can't possibly be a difficult thing to moderate a message board that gets 30 posts a day, a majority of which are in this thread.
The board isn't active enough to require blanket rules that make little sense in certain situations, this being one of them. Moderators should be able to have the discretion to say that no one cares if simians or sanc's locs are included in their respective war summaries.
Allowing locs means we'd have to look at every one we see to make sure it's not target sharing. With locs against the rules, they aren't as common and tend to get reported making it easier for us to manage overall. Has nothing to do with the particular kds that are being discussed being tagged or not.
Ah thanks _greenie, you covered it nicely.
30 posts a day..... right.
Anyway, rules are not open for debate. Back on topic, which is (xx:xx) vs (xx:xx).
(see what I did there?)
It's already inconsistent. The only viable reason why locations aren't allowed is because of targetsharing. But targetsharing (without posting locs) isn't allowed either, and this is a judgement call. So the only thing you can't post locs for is already disallowed...except when the mods decide to allow it.
I bet you would disagree if it was Abs locs being posted on the forums in YR0. Like I said, it's not up for debate. There is nothing inconsistent about it; no locs, period. That's about as consistent as it gets.
I stopped counting when I got to 40 outside this thread since it already proved you wrong. I didn't even get through UT.
Question for dorje: May I ask what you want out of this war vs.Simians? WW and bragging rights? Or?
No troll, just wondering what your intentions are since we know Anri is going for the fame and attention, but you, I can't really figure out by kd page.
"hi guys, my ghetto accidentally gave the button against kd (xx:xx) so now we're in a war, and getting our asses handed to us, their monarch said for me to join IRC and connect to irc.absalom.info and message 'dorje' what's IRC and how do i connect? In the mean time is there anything i can do to turn this around?"
The wizards were attacked 55 times for a total of 5665 wizards killed.
So mean.
sucks4u
Still a lot of cleanup to do, but a corner has been turned and I'm now confident of an eventual sanc victory. Looks like both kingdoms should be able to find a few players to replace after this one so it's back to the recruiting board.
I want to get some good recruits out of it. Simians is hyped on this board as the best warring kingdom around. Sanc lost a couple wars this age where we went into battle unprepared against kingdoms with 30% more troops than us, giving us an unfairly poor reputation. Now we're more prepared but still a few players short. We need people that'll be here on time for your armies, every 9.5 hours of war for however long it lasts. Previous skd experience is a plus, but not required.
to bad for simians..

Total land exchanged: +11,317 (491/714)
War is swinging more to sanc's favor, but this isn't really reflected on the kd page yet.
That's a sh!t ton of attacks from Simians though! Are they focusing so much on chains causing their gains to be terrible? almost 200 more trad-marches SHOULD relate to more acres taken, why isn't this the case?
