Age 54 Potential Changes Rev II

Id really like to hear what some of you have to say about the proposed war hero. +50% gains from honor is just as much of a penalty as it is an advantage. When you do gain honor in this game, it's just like putting up a hit me sign. Which is fine, but when you go from count to knight in 6 TM hits with your army out, the population bonus you will loose is substantial. This will overpopulate your province fast. I suggested in it's place -50% honor loss from land attacks/ops. Honor is easy to obtain, but very hard to hold onto. What are your thoughts?

exactly, as a do nothing attack penatly for fearies is serious, you cant use them for acres. Orcs cant use Ops. Thats a pretty darn good weakness compared to the other races. I cant see any kd winning a war without ops. wtv they are.

These people crying about sages must stop. Other personalities are much stronger now and a sage must sacrifice alot to pump science. In addition, it gives up alot of bonuses to be a sage and takes awhile to build up science. Sages get strong from mid age or after and have to play half the age with weaker provinces then almost any other. Also median size science is just horrible why dont you just take science out of the game !!!! if you dont want to pump your science then its your choice don't blame people that like science as it is the only true way to beef up your province in utopia, for taking the time and effort to do so

I think its just not to penalise ppl that like to war with ppl that dont war just to be whoring around and pump casually.

The war win bonuses is there to promote wars across the game, regardless of size and activity, and personally I'm all for it. I'm glad they dropped the win bonus a bit though.

I think sage is well balanced. Lose the free books per acre and increase science effectiveness. Just means they actually have to do a little more than just grow an insane amount.

As for people complaining about Faeries not having MS and it being a Mystic spell only...please get over it. There were ages past where MS was a Mystic spell only and people got on with the age just fine. And I'll admit, I rather enjoyed Faeries having all spells. Made Faery sages dominant TMs.

Although I said I was happy with all the changes earlier in tthis thread, the one thing I might voice my opinion about I'd make Human elites 6/5 and 600gc possibly? It was a bit of an over look on my end mainly because I don't interest.d on playing/running many/any Humans. Is the 6/5 too much seeing as you could go Human Sage with ToG and FoK?

I think as they are with these changes they should be fine, though. They lost some space efficiency, hence they can make the choice if that translates to lost WPA/TPA or lost defense when they run their province.

yupp. You can't take full spell book away from faery. Its just a bad idea all the way.

Mystic Aura isn't on any race. Does Faery have it? Or is it removed?

As leader of The Faery Circle I question your abilities if you think only Mystics can be effective T/Ms.....

With the possibility of 50% of attackers being Orc with Reflect on, Rogue and Sage are quite good options.

just looking at it objectively, there's no reason to run faeries. They almost have a complete spellbook. They have no attacking power to speak of. Their magic efficiency is beaten into the ground by elf. Their magic damage is beaten &/or matched by Dwarf and Human. Their thievery efficiency is beaten into the ground by halfling. Their thievery damage is beaten by Avian and Human. Every race is capable of exploiting honor and whoring it out to get ridiculous bonuses, so you can't use that as an argument. Their defense is pretty irrelevant since it will be taking a hit since faeries now need more thieves/wizards (or they'll keep the same defense, run less wpa/tpa and be ineffective).

The only race that faery really has some sort of advantage over is Undead, which just happens to be the one race that can actually afford to conquest down faeries (assuming non-cleric for the other races).

Overall the changes looks great, especially now that the game mechanics was tweaked a little bit, looking forward to next age alot!

As for the races and personalities only a few stood out to me:
Avian
Lost:
10% attack time
+1 dspec
2 def for their elite
CS and fanaticism
+50GC for elite

Gains:
Vermin
+40% thievery damage
.25 nw reduction for elite

The stuff they lost are MAJOR and all the things they gained are MEH (personal opinion), and avians wasnt even overpowered this age. Imo they need a stronger army, elites are too easily ambushed and with their reduced army strength they arent gonna be able to run good TPA and compete as attackers.

Halfer:
Looks a little weak, they did after all lose 10% pop, accurate intel and QF, they where really good this age, aye, but still this is pretty weak even with the TPA buff. Give them some decent bonus back, like:
- QF
- A spell to reduce combat-losses by say 10-15% on offence (healing light, light of the heavens whatevs).
- Larger home capacity

Mystic:
Seems a bit OP, if you are gonna give it +1 mana and +20% further spell duration from last age thats gonna give them too much of an ability to blanket MS. I mean come on two mystics can blanket a full KD with MS as is, now they get extra mana AND even longer spell duration. Plus the MS just got worth a whole lot more since faeries dont have it. Either remove the +1 mana or nerf the spell duration (to say 20%) possibly removing the tower efficiency bonus as well. Too much of a good thing here.

Sage:
Took a big hit, but as has been said it was overpowered for a long time, but seeing as how other personalities got a bit of a buff maybe its a little weak.

My 2 cents, overall really pleased with the changes.

Never everyone was happy with all changes. Ironicaly, once the changes were implemented, they would then rant about the changes after that to keep the changes they were complaining about the age prior
