I was obviously talking in general terms since he said "we needed ruby to break T/M." I was merely pointing out that breaking T/Ms you only lose about 4% DME reduction picking gold over ruby and you have a dragon that is much better for hostile against the non T/Ms (the other 20 provs). I actually didn't even count that they had 5 T/Ms... it's just I always run 5 T/Ms.

Obviously in this instance, it's not 20 provs but more like 5 or so, but the gold dragon on those dwarves would have been killer and a ruby on them is absolutely useless. They're all out of range of any good hits (except maybe the bottom dwarf on a faery) and if the dragon stays through war, they're already going to break all your core and get broken by all your cows. I doubt it will be the make or break between 1 unique, or that the gold reduction on TGs/Forts wouldnt accomplish nearly the same while starving the **** out of them, or that you even calculated that judging by your pick.

But sure, disregard the main point of the post and focus on masking your mistake of ruby over gold. You guys obviously know much better than me. I mean you've been winning for the last several rounds now.

As far as the constant intel, we have a bet in CR on how often flogger starves. Stakes are high boys.

Since its just 15 avian whs and also 5 dorf tacts, if the t/ms in Pandas had high forts, the gold dragon would most likely be a better choice.

If it's 20% forts (nothing strange), it's an 8% DME reduction to send gold. You're essentially letting their dwarves off the hook for picking dwarf with the +100% consumption lol. I haven't even done the math but how many farms do you need with a gold dragon on you as dwarf? Probably 100% farms :P

I wonder if flogger and/or his little sister prot are going to say that I'm right or if they're both carefully dissecting my post to find something else to mock.

doesn't the effect of the Gold depend what their BE already is, godly?

And more importantly then the hungry dwarves; the goldy aldo reduces the efficiency of the hospitals, and both kds are very focused on kills on the t/ms atm. So that another strong point in favour of the goldy.

The only reason for the ruby would be that Pandas t/ms didnt run high forts, and that it was such a close deal to break them that the ruby was the only way. I doubt the ruby made any provinces in BB UB that wasnt already (and the gold would also lower training ground efficiency)?

But then u cant help to wonder if throwing in some low off bounces with like only 10-15% chance to give a meter point wouldnt have fixed that problem and still made the gold work better?

Of course only Prot/Flogger can give the full insight on the ruby vs Goldy as they had all the numbers :)

If the faes were on 20% forts with 100% BE, the DME drop is like 6,4% from a gold dragon. If they were on 80% BE before the gold on 20% forts the DME drop from a gold is around 6.4% again, so no not really.

Sure, but I'd find it hard to believe any configuration that gold wouldn't have broken. Even on 300v240 (assuming the 10% DME reduction already factored), they can already break without ruby.

It was both to lower the chances of a raze after a bouncewave (we figured they would bounce a cow to try and get it into their range) and to be able to hit faeries while having a buffer to keep doing it.
Their faeries ran 15% forts, their dwarves ran somewhere 15% tg/forts combined. The Ruby gave a better reduction than the Gold would have (3-4% extra DME loss)

The ruby did the job we wanted it to do. With a gold, we wouldn't have been able to make a few of the hits, they where close. On a 300k defense province, the 3-4% ME difference Ruby gave extra, is 9-12k.

Dwarf WH would've been better. Give a big middle finger to all ugly drakes

Run it on 15% forts and ~<90% BE (and by now 70-80). DME wise, the Ruby wins by 3.5-4% on the faeries and more on the dwarves.
Sure it might be a small difference, but flogger was exaggerating a bit earlier. A couple of the hits wouldn't be possible if it had been a gold. (can argue gold, but in a situation where gold is getting more scarce, getting a couple mil for mercs is though.
