I've been contemplating a double-barreled amnesia~nightmare assault cannon.

Avian - Heretic - Guilds to try to protect BR from FB
Avian - Undead - Maybe, just maybe, it might not burn out before mintime

Bocan - Undead - AD+TW, suicider

Bocan - Rogue - tpa+dmg

Dark Elf - Paladin - converts+def losses, plague immunity(wages)
Dark Elf - War Hero - extra converts, income protection, dragon immunity(wages)
Dark Elf - Mystic - guilds+dmg, even if it doesnt apply to MS

Dryad - Warrior - I can't see Warrior on anything else if you have to have both Dryads and Warriors in TVK, it gets by far the best utility out of every aspect of Warrior (except BL kills)

Thank you for the progressive convention on the design, RattleHead.

Sometimes my conservatism pokes out and I miss clear mechanics. Looks like an uphill age for pure attacker longevity. Your sober critique of the faery situation was the push I needed. While I have a tired design in my draft I was concerned about where I can hold a few marbles. It's my sentimentality for the attackers and maybe I just have to let them go on their own a little.

Here are divisions based on my above roster;

Assault1 - With this group I have lumped together both the Plague, and Plague immunity. If they are going to share targets, they may as well not interfere with each other in this way. I foresee this group lurking near the bottom, being a pain in the rear to escape from once banished to their depths! Paladins should be able to FB with decent effect across NW

The Dryad working as the 'muscle'; throwing Massacres, and with follow-up hits on Spearhead targets, along with the Avian and Orc

Well if it helps you I went Avian/Warrior this age. I think War hero was the best choice I made for Dryad, Paladin not so much and it rubs me the wrong way to see so many countering the additional attack time with tactician, you don't get the best of Dryad with tactician, and come on +15% attack time is nothing. I would slap Paladin on Orcs any day of the week and for lack of better places put undead on Dark Elf.

Still a work in progress. One of my aims was reliable spread of ops and sabotage. The dwarf paladin dealio is based in my experience as an orc paladin last age. Paladin is very strong unless you get razed(lol) so spell reliability and rune efficiency is all for naught once your stuck with crushed guilds. The dwarf paladin also hails the old dwarf with fools gold.

More work, less time to assemble this contraption. Be back latter.

@ Madchess. I'm incorporating some of your work in my final draft. You consistently prove your ingenuity in the most daunting field of the game. Thank you.

No worries! I quite enjoy the exercise you've created here. Makes me think about combos that I wouldn't consider otherwise, and can be eye-opening at times, like 'hey, this could actually work!'

Sadly, I became addicted to Utopia through avian tac and Twily ran one last age.

The manifesto I've built on avian tac doctrine is disturbing. I think I'm beginning to act like an avian tac at work since I can't play Utopia like I use to.

Alright, I think I'm there. I'm keeping the dark elf and dryad this age and shaving one orc and one avian. This isn't a referendum on my opinion of these races; we just don't have 27 province kingdoms.

Was intrigued with dark elf tac for a few reasons but ultimately will go paladin. I'm looking at instant spell damage and the inclusion of fools gold I believe completes the photon torpedo spread. Amnesia, Fools Gold, Nightmare.

how about you go with the hypotesis that two of the provinces reset mid age to go orc and avian insted, that way you can use all 27 slots

Haven't given it a real hard look, but my haphazard attempt at getting chastity spread worked out. Blah, that was exhausting :)

Edit: I should explain I was configuring alternative division setups, but it got dizzying.

One was a set of seven divisions with 3 provinces each and two divisions of 2 equidistant to HQ. The other was five divisions of 3 and two divisions of 5.

My idea was to break some divisions down further to tutor the genesis of microing. Thus, in the 2 province divisions I was going to put one rover and one camper together in each. This was to help players who aren't particularly social or have language barriers that prevent concise organization. I'm still looking at these options which would be ideal for the province switch you mentioned @ Madchess.

I've recently started keeping a copy of the Survey of Races, only 3rd Age I think... might be interesting some day, but I digress! I was inspired to use the data to try to compile a roster for TVK, I tried a few methods but settled that using the top 25 overall combinations would give the best representation of the game, or maybe a snapshot of a prototypical 'casual' KD?

A1 - Elf/DE can make good use of specs in these 'attrition' units, birds are natural in this role as well, and Human income can also help stay afloat in this regard
