Why are they hidden under protection? I kinda forgot the reason.
Because you haven't discovered the world yet...
That's a cop out...what's the real strat reason behind it? To hide ghettos?
So you don't have situations like:
"Who won last age? Fratzia? K, everyone find them and kill them while they're small"
Ooo ok. Oop everything should be open though right?
No. You discover 2 new islands (1 in each direction?) per tick once we're OOP.
Yes, it should take 40ish hours for you to see all islands. I can't remember how many islands there were last age... *edit* there were do, so 39/2=19.5*3 = 59 hours
Man so id have to wait ten hrs to hit my friend? Wtf lol
Ignore Palem Hint hes wrong, its 2 every 3 hours.
Is it? I'm.....I'm wrong?
*goes and sobs in a corner*
Damn...I guess his sparky pixies pulled one over his eyes.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it was more along the lines of countering GBP bank feeding. This too:
+1. In order to illegally land farm now you'd have to create a farm on your island. A lot more difficult than before.
Palem, Your scenario just doesn't happen for three reasons:
1) Former #1 kingdoms can counter it by hiding their kingdom name until later. Only top (read: informed) kingdoms would have an idea of who they are, but can't be 100% sure without a kingdom leak. Personally, I can look at a kingdom's race setup / prov names and have a 9/10 shot of guessing correctly. But then again, I'm Godly.
2) A ghetto can/will only feed a kingdom like that right back to #1
3) The other top kingdoms generally don't want to get into a conflict early before draining their explore pool and developing their kingdom plan. They'd rather pick apart the easy 15 province kingdoms with 900 acre 40k nw provs.
Some of the drawbacks of this include:
1) Greater safety for banks to come OOP with limited defense. You usually have a decent 15 hours OOP before someone of worth can see you. In my Age 46 #1 round I came out with limited defense and didn't even train any additional defense OOP, and continued to explore trying to bait a GBP hit from the first killer that saw me. Due to NW size differences, I only lost ~150 acres but gained 2800 in a doubleup from GBP. Being 5600 acres 1 day OOP basically ends the round right there.
2) Harder to make a grab OOP (which helps server strain indirectly) when you only have 6 kingdoms to choose from.
Godly, very interested in how you lost 150 acres and gained 2800. Did you explore most of that, dice it, or hit it, or what portion was each?
Great info though.
Just makes the help of alliances and friends more worthwhile (for GBP) :/
And LOL @
9/10 chance of probably telling whether it's an abs kd or not, but 9/10 chance of saying exactly which kd it is based on prov names and theme is just lol. Godly, see, you know your stuff (the same stuff that all decent-good players should know), but when you talk about yourself as being all high and mighty, nobody can take you seriously bro.
1) Bait someone to hit you for 150
2) Hit triggers GBP
3) Get everyone in kingdom to send soldiers/gold
4) Explore max (whatever your current land is) -- mine was ~2800
Some Non-abs kingdoms I already know who they are considering that they tell me so I don't hit them. ABS kingdom would never tell me who they are, so the rest is piecing together which ABS kingdom is which and the 5-6 non ABS kingdoms at the top that I'm not friends with. And I'm very good at it.
Cool, thanks.
Ok, you need to reword your previous statement then. Piecing together who is who takes time; you can't just look at a kingdom at the start of the round and be like, "oh judging by this kingdom's theme and race setup, it is Rage of Absalom."
You might be good at it mr detective, but don't exaggerate yourself and say you have a 90% chance just by looking at a kingdom page to see who's who. Just tone it down a notch Mr. Godly, if you want people to take you seriously that is.
1) I don't care how you or anyone else chooses to take me.
2) Obviously I'm referring to after all/most the islands are revealed and not at Jan 1st -- otherwise how would I see them? Think, boy.
3) I didn't say province name alone. I also said race setup. That includes a few things: Did they bank? How many pure attacking races did they select? How many hybrids did they select? Are there any REALLY bad picks (orc, human)? Did they split pool or did they go with 400 acre attackers? Believe it or not, most kingdoms don't change their kingdom plan very often.
For province name I look at certain things: 1) Did they pick a story theme? 2) Can I match up the leader's tastes to the theme they chose? 3) Are there any province name giveaways? etc
Go ahead and take the shoe out of your mouth.
Sure you care, you're just denying that you do.
Alright then, send me your list of who's who in the top 20 by the time all of the kingdoms are revealed. And, if you have a 90% accuracy, then I'll say that you were right.
Don't make excuses now.
Um, no? I'm not going to put people's business out there for the public to see. You're totally missing the point of this thread btw (and hijacking it) just to try to argue with me whether I can get 90% or 80% right this round. I mean what exactly are you trying to prove? That I didn't get 90% right this round? Oh noes I only got 80% right this round. I must have been lying. In the end, you are inferior to me in utopia and that's about all that matters.
Not to redirect this, but two ages ago, right OOP my kd encounted this kd we thought we could handle, they looked pretty disorganized, various sizes and nw, didn't have their names in any kind of theme, hitting into random kds off the bat, etc.
We hit into them, takes a while for them to respond back too, and then eventually go to war. We did well first two days, and then they turned it on and handed our butts in a silver platter.
Turns out this kd was Sanctuary Abs. :-(
Could have fooled anyone really.
you don't see the adjacent island concurrent, from what i remember
Godly -
Knock it off.
Mickster, I've done nothing wrong. I answered the original question by the OP and developed the thread to the point where it was completely answered -- and was consequently thanked by someone. It was not until nhk decided to flame me that the thread went off topic. Be objective for once and warn the correct person.
Where did I flame you?
I've seen you call a dozen people "stupid" and "retard" so far, including me!
Where did I call you stupid or retarded? All I've said to you that could be considered an inflammatory remark might be that I am better than you at utopia. If that's the reason for the warning, roflmao.
How did you flame me? You attacked me for no reason regarding the fact that I claimed that I am good at sniffing out which kingdom is which. How did this hurt you in any way? Do you have to start fights with people to feel better about yourself? Let's put it this way: Had you not spoken, there would be no argument here. You were the cause of it.
Trollolo? Are you 12?
It's ok to be mad.
Let's just hug it out man, seriously. Let's end this dispute!
"It's ok to be mad."
Not really... I don't want you to break anything man.. you should look into anger management or something.
"Let's end this dispute!"
Sorry, but there's no dispute here because you haven't made a valid point in the last 10 posts other than trololo and umad.
Maybe if you can come up with something valid to argue about, then we can have an argument, get mad together, and then hug it out. Until then, I suggest you see someone about your rage issues.
I just wanted to hug it out, stop causing trouble bro, seriously.
It's only natural for a person to deny.
Please Godly, I just want a friendly environment in these forums, you are ruining my Utopian experience =(
Godly, boma-ye!
