Gnome + Chaistity = Age of Multies...why? Read to find out!

Yes you have new cheating detection system. But am I allowed to ask an alliance mate for some intel? Of course I am! This is a networking game. So basically I will play from my ip, and then from my company phone which will give you totally different ip:s and networks and so on. I will play my gnome intel multi from my phone or other ip address I may have and take intel with it. You cannot delete me cause for you that person will just be my alliance mate. And also, chastity spell will be abused by multies casting it on all the banks except their own ofc.

Don't you see that these changes only encourage multies...and your new methods to stop cheating is great but the changes encourage everybody to see huge benefits of having an intel province. Gnome totally suck as a race but I can guarantee you that all you'll be doing this age is to delete gnomes cause people want 100% intel, and the only way to do it is with Gnome, but as a race Gnome is horrible.

What do you guys think?

Yes, pretending to be multiple users when you are in fact a single user (with multiple IPs) is cheating. Correct. It's why the new system has been introduced. Previously it was tough to see this. Now with the new system you've already pointed out - it's easier.

No I don't see that I'm afraid. I can't see how anything encourages cheating more than 'cheating helps you win'.

So is your point as follows - folks will try to illegitimately get the benefit of an intel province. If they're caught (we remain optimistic they will be caught more than previous ages) they'll have to get a legitimate intel province and cooperate and use teamwork.

Folks will try to cheat to get an ingame benefit. If caught (or if cheating isn't their style) they'll use teamwork for the benefit.

We'd rather address cheating than not introduce new game ideas and possibilities for fear they'll encourage cheating.

Some things are more gamebreaking then others.

Fact 1: Gnomes are useless attackers compared to other races.
Fact 2: Gnomes are required to get reliable intel.
Fact 3: Gnomes also have a spell that can halt growth totally for a prov.

This last bit is incredibly hurtful for fast growing/exploring provinces. There needs to be only 1 or 2 cheaters to have an enormous impact on the charts. Even if your system is better, I think yuo can agree it will never be 100% fullproof. Therefor there is a reason very harmful spells are only in unfriendly/hostile/war. Chastity is extremely dangerous.

Perhaps a "SpelCheck" spel would be usefool?

I don't see how this encourages multis anymore than the previous ages. Every age before this you could have some random supergnome just doing the same thing for you.

I see that the changes give a lot more advantages to the top players a lot more and is an EFF YOU to the new guys and smaller kd's who dont have the organization to quickly gather and share intel

the guy is right, any KD that wanna do great things this age and has the possibility use a outside province to get 100% accurate info on the enemy WILL DO IT!!! it happened last ages with Super DEs for CB's or with Super Gnomes for SoMs.
IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN !!!

the biggest problem is Chastity... cause having a outside gnome that can give u 100% intel and can cast Chastity on your enemy will just make most "cheating" KDs to play A/M and just waste the enemy economy with FB...

also, full Avian KDs will just be everywhere , cause 1 Avian is a lot better that an intel gathering Gnome in the KD.

u guys really did it this time... YOU AND YOUR ULTRA MEGA NEW CHEATER DETECTION SYSTEM, of wich everyone knows that it doesn't exist unless someone will report the cheater... and u can't do anything if the provinces have different IP logins...

i bet, cause of that, and , CAUSE OF THE SUMMER LOSS OF ACTIVITY ( like it happened each summer), in the autumn there will be less than 4000 players in the game. the remaining will be leaving before new year.

This could be an excellent wy to weed out cheaters. You really think that Gnomes randomly casting Chastity on provs or getting intelligence for another province will just go under the radar? It sounds to me like a good net for the type of talentless cretins who like to cheat to walk right into and advertise themselves nice and clearly as cheaters.

It's not against the rules to employ a friend as your intel farm/chastity caster. How will you tell if it's a multi or two friends helping each other out?

That spell is just plain dumb to have at all, especially if it's accessible without relations. Also, I don't see the point in randomizing cb's or making them thief ops either. Doesn't make the game any more interesting and doesn't solve any issues, just change for the sake of change.

I'm not saying I agree with the changes - I don't either. I'm just disagreeing with the usual argument people come out with at this kind of time that x and y will encourage cheating, as if the kind of people who would choose to cheat need any kind of incentive.

I'd have no objection though to making it against the rules for friends to get intel for you. It is supposed to be a kingdom game after all so as far as the game goes you have upto 24 "friends" and that is it.

And then your KD gets invited to an alliance and you got 10 KD's of 25 friends making 249 other provinces your intell buddies.

Yeah, but they would fall into the "against the rules category" in that case!

doesnt storms already sorta do this already? that aside tho, this spell was just brought to my attention, and since I have no vested interest in this game, i dont mind running a 80% guilds prov just to spam this **** on someone for giggles and see ppl whine on forums

let's say that u report the outside province for helping the guys u will war with.
what will happen? that province get's deleted... SO WHAT???
if that province was created for that only purpose, what will be the loss? in 1 week a new province can be created for the same purpose.
also, a province like that will be so damn STRONG that u might never get any info in your news while he is gathering your info.

the only bad thing for the cheater/multy could be the IP ban meaning he won't be able to recreate a province on that IP. but, if his IP changes each time he connects to the internet? then, he will be as HAPPY as u are for the new changes.

i really don't understand how anyone else that a "cheater" cauld be happy for this kinda things.

the point is. if the things stay this way there will be many Gnomes on the server with the only purpose to gather intel for some MASTER KDs. like it was with the DEs in the past...
also, if Chastity is available in NORMAL relations it is gonna be worst thing ever...

It is a kingdom game so why not make it against the rules to get intel from an outside province? I'm not saying actively search out every province that does it and delete them, but stating that it is against the rules then gives plenty of leeway for the devs to delete cases that look more dodgy than just a friend giving someone some one-off intel. To be honest I couldn't care less either way - I get intel myself or from my KD-mates so I couldn't care less if they make outside "friends" illegal to finally start turning it into the kingdom game it is advertised to be. Implicitly making alliances illegal would be no bad thing at all.

If the new cheating system is all it is cracked up to be it shouldn't need people reporting Gnomes. If they choose to log it the devs can see who does intel on provinces and then who attacks so it isn't difficult if you have a system, to flash up when the same Gnome gets intel before the same attacker goes in and makes an attack. It all depends on how rigourous the devs want to be in rooting out the cheaters - whether the onus is still on people to report them or whether their automated system will flash up coincifences of Gnome/Attacker combinations (as in 2 different provinces) striking regularly. I really hope some people are dumb enough to create such Gnome provinces so that they can be deleted and rid the game of them!

It's a really really really really really bad idea to not restrict this op available to unfriendly and over.

agree it should be hostile/unfriendly only.

Also, there are ways to combat most other spells... will there be any way to combat Chastity? say the way NB can cure storms? hospitals? if someone keeps chastity on you 24/7, you're toasted.

i think this spell is a really really REALLY bad idea... especially if it's overpowered

Chastity + Storms combo if you keep it up long enough will kill a provences pessies if it isnt MVed. That is why it is good for inactive killing. But also good for harrrasing others and provence killing in general.

NB can cure plague, it will stop storms and droughts from being successful, but it will not stop them if it is already cast on you.

maybe if L&P is cast it can stop an incoming chastity? same way NB stops storms/droughts? or multiple L&Ps to cure it the way NB cures plague? dunno, just trying to think of ideas because i see it as one of the most destructive spells available

that is going to be SUCH a damaging spell there has to be a way to combat it... you're talking completely taking away the ability to recover during war

is chastity no pop growth at all!? or is it diminished pop growth, like storms but more powerful? a bit like drought and vermin combo. There needs to be a NB equivalent, just like for the plague and only available in unfriendly.

No matter what they decide to implement there will always some sort of flaw.....

I dont accept this is their final push to stop cheaters but its a step in the right direction.

In the end the only ones who can stop cheating is the players/kingdoms.

There is way to counter chastity and it already exists.. its called kidnap.. The new changes stated thier will be a focus on the importance of thievery.. there you have it.
