If he grows w/o getting thieves and his wpa blows, just pelt him with ops until he ragequits. Kill all his peasants for starters.

I'm the king of a shell kingdom this age, a loner would be of little concern to me, but of course I'm a bit worried about the behavior you describe if it is a personality trait and not about some sort of dissatisfaction with his current team.
Maybe he can be persuaded to get recruited into my kingdom if he is not a total lost cause, if not what sort of defenses are we talking about?

Quite sure misunderstandings happened, likely from both sides. The issue should be solved as soon as he joins my kingdom, I think he might have missed the invite send on last login or he is waiting because of the 24 hours rule, quite nice build elf/mystic althougth with some weak areas and indications he is not that active.
Everyone win and no one get clobbered, I'm surprised thougth that top kingdoms would find him to hard to hit.
They are most probably just busy or he's too small/unattractive of a target to be worth any investment in (in spite of how much top KD leaders like to be told what to do I imagine).Quote:

it has yet to be 24 hours since his initial response and me sending that invite, I think you'll see he will go away at that point, if not I made some gains and adjusted build which could put me in a position to hit up that much in 1-2 days, without my nw getting way bigger than his.
Sounds like a decent bloke tired of n00bs.
A few thoughts and suggestions for this situation in general:
Start with politely trying to work the player and discuss with them what they want and what you want. If the goals don't match, ask if they are willing to defect to a kingdom that is a better fit.
Failing that, then you need to kill him off.
Consider that intentionally staying small may leave you vulnerable to bigger players both internal renegades as well as outside provinces and kingdoms. Carefully examine why you aren't growing and decide if maybe you should try growing (this doesn't mean not warring.)
If the province grew fast, they probably have low wpa and possibly also have low tpa. Hopefully your kingdom has provinces who can take advantage of this. Removing his peasants is usually a good place to start since this will stop his growth and ability to train more military and thieves. If you've removed his peasants, you should be able to take them down over time with ops like MS, NS, NM, and then bounce razes until you can break on trad marches.
You can of course also ask other big kingdoms to hit him to speed the process.
Kingdoms at Skanks level are a mess. I've been in a few and cooperation is nearly impossible. I'm built for independent adventuring, but I truly sympathize with monarchs in the quagmire of the bottom.
As Madchess mentioned, we're happy to take these guys. We're not building a fist of FSU, just running these new builds through their paces. If this individual doesn't take the invite I'm sure Skank is welcome here.
Like Skank says; anybody can do what this guy is doing. His kingdom is unfit to combat the problem. Bart can speak to this, and I mean no offense. It's a dog-eat-dog Utopia.
Back a few ages ago, BiO offered to help us knock off inactives. They crowned that age and set the pace for my appreciation for whoring. A symbiotic island is a solid foundation.

Did another attemp to push him to accept offer and move on just now, in worst case senario I'll be clobbering the province once I got enougth offenses for that.
I do think Skank is overreacting, but I've been in the same situation with a few players in the past, one grew to 3x my size and razed me twice before leaving, another was the real Outplayers, he left peacefully enougth when asked to.
Yeah I would totaly leave your kingdom peacefully as well... Pretty sure he has a different version of this story. Hope you learn something from this and maybe the next dude with some talent will actually help you.Quote:

Everybody sees a different problem with Dora.
The main thing is he grows w/o sufficient wizz/thvs. He is empty NW. If anybody wants a use less prov he is it. No army but archers, few wizz, few thvs.
His main function is to make KD NW higher.
I doubt I'll post again as Bishop sent me a warning.

You can't use the forum for target sharing. Ask him if he can play dwarf. We war non stop so he will have to be able to grow in war if he wants. He can say whatever he wants to to me, but if he ticks off my attackers they will probably kill him, I won't be able to stop them. Lol. I'll give him a shot. If he can grow during war, ill have him. All I ask, respect my core players.

Just ask a top-KD to hit him down, while you constantly re-CF after each hit to make sure he gets no ops on said top-KD.
My intuition tells me he's a top guy or they'd be all over him. Mainly because war kingdoms have switched to abducts and valued acres might be getting scarce. I'm only yielding retal acres or I'd love to dogfight him for kicks. I'd bounce him but my oath is one of non-aggression unless provoked. At least till I feel like going heel :DQuote:

TY Madchess, and Strat, Dora defected after we bounce/razed him and TMs finally got busy too for 3 full days of fort... I feel sorry for his new KD. Maybe we should war them to kill him more.

The peak of playing with no fear in a shell kingdom, we got the freedom to help out even if it was only just a little.
While some may be sympatic to your cause a lot of kingdoms unfortunately will have goals like growth or war that they are not willing to compromise with and thus they'll not go out of their way to help out.
One thing that may annoy this player would be to tell his new king why he defected and was intraed, if they keep an eye out for similair things they might keep him in check or decide he is not someone they want arround either.
I would have made more hits if not for that one kingdom forcing us into fortified by retaliating my retal on them like 15 times, I guess that is the downside of playing in a shell, I just hope being hostile to a 3 man kingdom and hitting through smite and gs annoys them more than their 15-35 acre hits annoyed me.

The shell kingdom dynamic has pluses. Shells might get a bad reputation based in how the mechanics were used last age, but it's also important for the devs to see the meta in action for further game enhancements.
Similar to ages past I'm only retaliating. This age I'm attempting to grow exclusively through retal acres with zero pool use. This should make for amicable relations as I can't grow to present a danger unless provoked.
The underlying strength of the shell is that you're working with likeminded players which can be the nucleus for quality kingdom building. That said, guys like you Skank are the lifeblood of the game. It's a noble thing to take on the challenges of teaching new players. You're also playing the game at its elemental core: kingdoms built of randoms.
Funny seeing this thread. Im the monarch of the KD Dora defected to. We were told about disagreements with old KD and I think the KD changed name to "Kill off Dora" or something?
For the record we never had any issues with the persons behaviour and could have used another TM with some size. We went to war pretty quickly afterwards and Dora turned silent for some reason, and subsequently defected to another KD in the middle of war
Just proves he was no good, he left you when you most needed him after all. I think both Dora and Skank left the game or reset since I can't find their messages anymore, and I did not delete them.
I hope that the rest of that kingdom will have a fun age thougth.
