Well played early age. Looks to me like the age is pretty much over given how you all are farming. Good job.
Maybe next age we can compete better.

The problem with the mechanics as they are now is that in an even war, taking acres and winning are mutually exclusive. I believe this is because of the stacking kills bonuses, meaning you're basically either unbreakable or you're dead. Combined with the ease of ops meaning if you gain acres you will never have peasants. So the route to winning a war for certain is actually just to stack an untouchable amount of defense on a province with strong t/m power and let the other kingdom farm the rest of your provinces until they have to withdraw. And note I'm not just talking about Emeriti here - the dwarves in 4:15 have the same problem.
Of course we debate the value/prestige of the war win itself, but outside of certain grudge matches where all that matters is the win (cough), nobody ever wants to lose acres either.
I'm pretty sure orc can just always take half the other kingdom's acres and withdraw, every war. Unless they withdraw first of course. It's not how the game should be played, but if it's the best strategy for the current rules it's how we have to play it.
I'm still not sure they don't eventually have to WD, but they're way beyond the point where they WD in a position to destroy 4:15.
Currently 82k vs. 111k, and it looks like emeriti has more room to gain?
It's on to CQs now though which will make progress slow.

But Emeriti will be 111k with 19k in the pool if they WD, so I'm not sure they even need to go for a round 2?
Nah we'd be happy to ceasefire them afterwards whichever kd were to withdraw now. b2b in an early age is kinda lame anyway IMO.
But I don't think they believe in ceasefires.
Put the most of them a few k acres ahead of everyone else, just means they are to big to have any targets after this which is good if you don't compete for crown since they are still ignoring people who don't compete and ask for cf's, and probably a lot of those who are competing as well.
From what I can see is that they are pretty effectively chaining down your orcs 1 by 1.
As far as the stacking of kills bonus goes, its a double edged sword while attacking. whichever race casts bloodlust faces loss both ends as in loses offensive troops and even enemy casualties.
For ease of ops, I still think it is a matter of setup rather than much of ops. Having a race which has higher birth rate or less number of TMS will not stop econ growth. But again this is a topic which is up for a big debate!
I'd be cautious in that chain environment if those orcs have enough offense.
Have fun.
im gonna win the age

truly greatniss
Wars auto-ending on 50% land and not just 50% NW, discuss.
congrats
Congrats for what?
its mid y4
April 16 of YR4 Emeriti Faces of Arnold (6:10) has withdrawn from war. Our people rejoice at our victory!
Congrats Frost Trolls on the victory!
Loosing 28k acres is winning? Ok
winning is winning, or are you just too salty to admit that? xd
Everyone is a winner here!
I think both kd are happy with the outcome as we had one goal for the age and Emertiti another. Clean and fair war! People might say farm out and they can say that but I think both FG and Em knows activity was needed and lots of destruction!
Love you Binbin! even thou you went to the dark side!
Was a nice war. Well fought binbin & dorje.
Orc gains are sick. Believe we saw 15% on a cq.
Villains always celebrate early. It's part of their charm.
The only people that celebrate earlier than villains are the hapless friends of heroes. see bloodsport)
Binar shows his true colors by being a stick in the mud regarding early celebration.
I can't believe you would reference Bloodsport when we should be enjoying Autumn in the Vinyard.... Not to mention a Prince for Christmas.
I am going to go snuggle next to a fire under a merino wool throw and cry into my cup of warm apple cider with the cinnamon stick in it while my Grandmother comforts me with a spiritually empowering anecdote.
Wow Sheister, necer knew your were so poetic!
Only in my Hallmark moments.
Now that he's rediscovered himself. Home isn't always where you look with your eyes but how you see with your heart.

I think the new gains formula is stupid if working at all.. Land having effect on formula.. bs.. 3k land grabbing 14% land from a 400 acer prov.. seems legit. Salty..
Edit: Not to mention 13.8% gains on CQ.. was like 60% off vs def or something like that.
Edit2: Congrats to emertiti though, its a tough strategy to beat, very wise choice.
Sure i might have somewhat exaggerated the off/def i can admit that, but the % is legit. If it wasnt such a chore to scroll back in slack i would show the calculations from right after the hit, but i tried scrollling back and after about 5 minutes i was not even 6h back so i gave up on that.
Yeah i have been playing since you tricked me back with that fakevir thing... I should just have ignored you!
I think the changes came out almost the same day as that happaned and i started talking with hesus about it and then i decided "meeeh i can play core i will not get involved what so ever its easy just dont get attached"
4 weeks later im averaging 12h per day AT LEAST.. :S
ps: the guy that preteneded to be me just got a namechange no deletion. :/
We did send 67% on a single CQ as a test. It returned 4.2% gains (e.g. awful)
Out of curiosity, how good was their econ control w/ 8 faerys into 12 non-destroyed orcs and 6 tms?
Was it entirely unviable to bounce out TMs so you could actually kill troops instead of CQing with awful k/d ratios?
Man in Black: Look, are you just fiddling around with me or what?
Fezzik: I just want you to feel you're doing well.
Their war with Freeakstyle would've offered a look at the typical progressions Emeriti encountered here. From previous experience this would've been selective razes, etc, opening the orcs to sabotage managed right down to a T. The practice is to make them breakable by your lowest offense. Once established and cared for these breaches are nearly impossible to repair before a saboteur can tear down whatever resources may be acquired.
You probably already know this. Just thinking in print.

I really look forward to Mansoor's responses but never get to them before they're edited away.
