How to Use a Custom Theme

Starting with Age 62 you can use new themes created by other players. We hope that players who love the game and know web design will take the time to improve it for other players. Perhaps you would like to create a work-safe theme, or a responsive theme that works well on mobile. For instructions on how to do this, read "How to Create Your Own Theme".

In time, we'll build the most popular themes directly into the game (with the author's permission of course).

How to Use a Custom Theme
All you need is the URL of the theme as posted by the theme author. This subforum is dedicated to new themes, so it's a good place to look for some to start with. Utopia themes are all hosted on github. Theme URLs always look like this: "http://theme_name.github.io/".

To activate a custom theme, go to your account settings by clicking on your username in the top right corner of the game screen, and selecting "Account Settings". Scroll down to "Custom Theme" and paste the theme URL in the box. When you click apply, the new theme will be made active.

How to Get Rid of a Custom Theme
Go to your account settings by clicking on your username in the top right corner of the game screen, and selecting "Account Settings". Check the box called "Remove Custom Theme" and click apply.
