Starfall: It Begins

Tens of Thousands humans have stood under the open night sky and wondered. First we wondered what they were, and who they were, and why they seemed so small. Then we wondered if they were gods, being of great power sitting and watching us from a distance. Our technology evolved then as our thoughts did, with the discoveries of many centuries. Eventually the question came to a few simple words.

Are we truly alone.........

The day begun much the same as always in a sleepy suburb of habitation area C 15. The top of a cube staring back down at McMurry as he woke for another day. His room like hundreds of other at this instalation was bland plain and uncreative. Minus a few personal items he had been allowed to bring in his luggage when he had left the bountiful warmth and seasons of earth to live on a small installation floating around it. He had at the time seen it as a fun chance to get away and explore the possiblities of space, Floating beer, living entirely self sufficent off what the station made, floating se........ sleeping arrangements. Many things an average 18 year old thought about.

It was all far from what he had imagined, reason for self sufficent living, the cost of bringing anything from the surface was to high, Alchol was not allowed except during certian celebrations, and as for other things, been there done that. The decided lack of ability to have any lengthy relationship was one of the few things he truly did miss, with the amount of personel rotation for everyone except select personel, such as McMurry, nothing ever took hold, and nothing was really lost at the end of the day.

Hunter McMurry rolled out of bed cursing himself for woolgathering, "your really not supposed to do that till your old right?" he muttered to himself as he dressed. At 21 McMurry was one of many around the same age stationed on Echo instalation. His job was simple, to monitor fix and control long range radar signals in and out of the instalation. Working in 8 hour shifts with 4 other controlers they monitored all the chatter from other stations, of which 12 now orbited the earth to assist in supporting its population.

Hunter strolled out his door about 20 minutes later and entered the door marked "Authorized Personel Only" a door regularly laughed at and mocked for the fact that all people in this installation were of sufficent clearance not just to pass through these doors, but to access any ship anywhere any time. Hunter walked over to his abandon station, cracked open his book and begun to read, since nothing else was allowed. To think at the start of that day his goal had been just to finish that book..........

This is the start of a new board and the start of a new thread, The specs are simple and fairly wide open, i can take as many as want in or as few as 3 people and take this thread easily through the first months of posting, That does mean one thing..... I NEED PEOPLE =P

So heres the character outline, i reserve the right to request edits or changes on any character submited if i think its out of line

Name: Sean Henelon
Age: 25

Character looks: Strong, wiry, a big guy with broad shoulders and dark, short-cropped hair. Brown eyes, healthy skin, but somewhat lacking in a sense of humor so he always seems stern and downcast.

Specialty: A guard for Echo Station, proficient in martial self-defense and throws, as well as simple pistol use.

Reason you are out here: After graduating from university, he found himself working at a local constabulary, but was offered a job through a friend at the office who had a cousin working on Echo Station. Thought it would be a good way to get out and experience something new. Misses his family a lot, and writes his girlfriend every week, although he doesn't hear back from her often.

Background info: When he was a kid, he wanted to become a professional astronaut, although he was not a very good student and did poorly at mathematics. He played ball in high school, and was involved in coaching ball in university, although only as an assistant coach. He studied history and has a particular passion for Napoleonic battles. He spends most of his free-time playing intramural games with other works at Echo Station, or checking stats on games down on the surface. He also does a little racing on the side, as his brother is a driver at a local track near his hometown of Santa Rosa, California, but Sean hasn't had an opportunity to really get out on the track since he started working on the base seven months ago.

He hopes to, one day, have an opportunity to fly in space, although he has no training of any kind.

Name: Dr. Tabitha Drusilla
Age: 22

Apparence: She is tall and slender. She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. She wears very thin framed galsses that often sit on the end of her nose.

Specialty: Doctor for the Echo Station

Background: Graduating at the top of her class, she could get any opening she wanted. Only every job that was presented to her seemed boring and easy. When she heard that there was a job on the Echo Station, she did not hesitate to apply. She was accepted and she ship out.

Name: Sora Zo

Age: 19

Character Looks: 5ft 8, Black hair that goes down to chin with blue stripe going down right side, sky blue eyes. Skinny.

Specilty: Recon, spying, stealing, as well as expert use of blades/daggers

Reason your out here: Earth got boring.

Background info: A bored merc, Sora decided to look for a job elsewhere in the galaxy. Hearing of a possible job on Echo Station, he contacted the station. After getting approval for a job, Sora shipped out to the station bringing all of his "toys"(blades) with him.

This is great, no one signs up for about 3 weeks after i post this, then i get 3 people in one day. I'm excited! i will have a thrad up for IC in about 2-3 days, i will give people that amount of time to join up if they like.

I must have missed it before... that and I am desperate..X.X

heh, wild, i will not disappoint on this one, i'm writing a novel on this, from how i see this going, will be interesting to see how it goes, and if it does follow the plan =P

meh its been half a year since i have rped properly....i doubt i could post those 30 liners i used to.....but i suppose if enough of you want me to join i can......

Name: Crios Therack

sex: male

Age: 23 years of age

Character Looks: short black hair, medium height (5'8), fair colored skin, green eyes that seem to glow in the right light, not highly muscular but toned

Specilty: tracking, stealth, deception as well as the two martial arts forms kenpo and ninjitsu

Reason your out here: Was an operative in the government much like that of the black ops but during one such mission despite following orders Crios killed a visiting official and so was shipped off to Echo on a "mission" to weed out suspected saboteurs that he suspects is a wild goose chase intended to get him out of the light of day and clear his government's name.

Background info: Crios' parents died when he was young in a hostage incident and so was sent to live with his grandparents at an early age. Crios was always the quiet one. He never assosiated with his class mates in school nor in college despite passing the exams with some of the highest scores seen before. It wasn't that much of a suprise for him when he was selected for review by government officials for a new special divisions unit for the military. Always believing the world was corrupt and needed men such as he to help weed out the corruption he dedicated himself to becoming what they officials expected of him. He passed at the top of that elite class as well and was found to have unmatched inquisitorial skills. He soon became the "top" man for this organisation which he learned became his curse when he ran into the incident that caused his shipment to Echo under cover as a techs specialist. Despite having gentlemanly manners he continues to seem like the outcast. Not caring if he makes friends or not and over all keeping to himself, so long as he gets his job done and is able to return to earth when his time on echo is complete in order to show those that sent him there that they can not silence him.
