Sci qualdruping bonus
Your benefits are determined based on your Books Per Acre (BPA) in each category. Quadrupling your BPA will generally double your bonuses.
Does that mean 1k BPA = double bonus? It goes by category or total?
For example, at 500 acres I need 500000 sci pts for 1k BPA. Does it mean 500k in alchemy = double bonus? Or once i have a total of 500k sci pts, every category will receive double bonus?
-
yes only bonus per category.

Quadrupling your BPA will generally double your bonuses.
100bpa gives say 8% something
400bpa (x4) same something will now give 16% (2x)
so 4x sciences give 2x returns, I think its always been like that right?
anyways sciences costs are waaay down which is really nice, so we ll be seeing more sciences faster this age I think which is good.

The bonuses are square roots, therefore 1bpa (1^2) will give 1%, 4bpa (2^2) will give 2%. 16bpa (4^2) will give 4%.
And so on.
-
100bpa in housing does not give one +8% population. 100bpa gives around +3.5% population.

Utopia4life is right as far as i know.

As Dillbert said, the bonuses go with the square root of BPA:
Bonus = base * sqrt(BPA)
The base modifier for housing is .65, so 100 BPA of housing gives +6.5% population.
