Bishop might be right about the "before gbp" part, not sure, but the formula that has been going around through a forum search is this one:
Building credits = Land x 0.55 x percent nw
percent nw = targets nw/your nw
so its modified by a relative nw modifier. that would make sense. which is why it jumped back up to 209 since he was half the nw.
I had always been under the impression it had something to do with the amount of defense broken.
has nothing to do with defense to break. you'll get full building credits against land-defense targets.
tamle's formula is accurate i think, with the exception that building credits can't exceed acres taken, except for personality bonuses that increase building credits (merchant). gbp doesn't appear to have any effect on building credits at all, aside from reducing the land taken in the first place.
specialist credits are based on defense broken.
i am assuming that peasant gains on traditional march follow the same gains curve as land gains, with roughly 8-9% of the target's peasants as the maximum gain

Yes. Defense broken x 0.0055 x relative nw of target. Not sure about building credits. I think it has something to do with how many buildings they have built also.Quote:

Where it would have similiar caps and min gains when PNF is 0.
For building credits i will go with the general line noted here:
Land capture * 0.55 * Relative NW
for spec credits gain, the relative nw caps at 1, =min(your nw/target nw, target nw/your nw)
