Can't assume mentorship on gold account

When I want to take control over the prov I'm mentoring I get shown this:
Status: Alive Take sitting
Renounce mentor role

After clicking "take sitting" I got to this page:
Assume control of Guy I want to Mentor (X:X) for 4 hours.

You must have gold status to be able to mentor another province! Buy it in the shop and active it here!

After clicking active (shouldn't that be activate?) It shows:
You currently have Gold status until Sun, "end of" Aug 2020.


So why can't I assume my role as mentor?

I had a province set me as a mentor then they also set a sitter for the next week.
Now I am unable to mentor anyone
