Hi, I haven't tried this before but wanted to know what happens in this situation:
I traditional march attack an enemy and take 200 acres.
The enemy ambushes my army and gets back 100 acres.
I cast Anonymity. I then ambush the enemy ambush. What happens here?
Does Anonymity work on my ambush attack, making that ambush not ambushable?
Do I still get back 50 acres or do I suffer the anonymous -15% gains and instead get 42 acres?
Yes, Anon will protect you from being ambushed, whatever the attack type you send. There is no gains penalty on Anon for ambush, as I recall.

What about the kills? Surely anon ambush would result in lesser troops being killed?
less gains = less kills
Can you clarify? Do you mean generally with less gains there will be less kills, or that in an ambush, since the land is set, gains are tied to kills instead so if I anon or did -1 I would get less kills?Quote:

base kills are 5% for the attackers units and 7% for the defender's... now, i assume the attackers isnt modified by your attackers nw/land (only by racial, building, spell, and thievery effects), but your target's losses will fall away from 7% as you move out of 'max gains' range.
doing -1, or 2h, has a similar effect on target losses i believe ...
edit- sorry i wasn't very clear, basically "less gains = less kills" is true, in so far as targeting in your own NW/land range will reap the best gains, and kills. At the same time I agree with ASF that casting Anon does not result in less kills with everything else being equal. So while you do get 15% less acres (or whatever if you anon other stuff), your kills are based on how optimal your nw/land range is vs the target.
I believe that the only disadvantage to anon for ambush are the mana and runes used.
That and not having a bush war to finally get to that 1acre ambush.Quote:
