Or is he closing our threads on his own accord. I can only assume you didn't want Mourhelm doing it, since everyone would have had a ****fit if that failmod had come in closing down threads questioning his mod abilities.

It's funny, the problem started with Mourhelm... then LadyGrizz, Mickster, and Phoenix came to his defense.
You guys don't get it. Whatever the rules are, it doesn't matter. Up until the point of Bishop and Mourhelm being made mods, this community had adapted to the way these forums were run. We understood our leeway for having fun and a bit of flaming here and there. It was the promotion of the uber-active mods suddenly lurking in all the threads, deleting and closing and editing, that caused the problems. It may not have been a change in the rules, but it was a change in the way the rules have been enforced for the last year.
I really don't care how LadyGrizz, Mickster, and Phoenix interpret the rules and enforce them, cuz let's be honest, you guys are just rarely in here, so you don't matter. It was very apparent the torch had been passed to Bishop and Mourhelm, and they have used the torch to burn the place down. The mods are the real flamers, flaming our right to have fun, our right to enjoy the community, and our right to have a conversation without unnecessary interference.
And Mickster, you say we don't have a right to free speech here. Go ahead and take that road bro, and watch how fast these forums die. Without the players who you guys have been censoring these boards would be nothing but nub trolling and moronic discussions of pointless topics.
Point of fact?
I've "been in here" for almost a decade now. I've been through this cycle many a time.
It's never been like this ever, Mickster.
You're making up history as you go along.
Take your own advice, follow the rules, and stop calling us morons, then have Lydias delete my posts that highlight that you did.
It's Maroon.
I don't have Lydias delete any post for me. I do it myself.
And it has been like this . 'General Talk' in the old days is a fine example.
Doesn't matter, it was an insult to the poster's intelligence, along with the IQ comment.
You may very well have been here for a decade, but Mourhelm and Bishop have done more moderating here in the last 2 weeks than you have in the last 6 months, so like I said, you don't matter much.
General talk isn't a forum, but a waste of space.
What went on in there had no effect on those of us who played the game, and that place would have been much better without any moderation at all.
What general talk has to do with you insulting us, after claiming that insults are against the rules, I do not know.
No, actually they haven't.
I just don't discuss my actions.
The alternate General Talk has well over 100,000 posts unlike the ****ty one here, OMAC should have been accepting to that community instead arrogant asses and running them off.
Maybe you should consider discussing your actions, since they're what's causing the recent increase in hatred around here.
Stop turtling in stealthmode. I know you're there.
In response to http://forums.joltonline.com/showthr...=595546&page=3 : Sorry, but I care to disagree. Yes, we may not have the Freedom of Speech here. The boards are after all hosted by OMAC and subject to their rules and regulations.
Mickster, you've been an impartial mod up till now, and if you took a step back and placed yourself in the shoes of the members I think you will agree that impartiality is what is required.
So why is it that an insult vs a member of the community is allowed to let fly whereas a comment which ended up insulting a mod (but not created with the intent of doing so) lead to my getting banned?
Water under the bridge and all that, but I believe that this points out the simple fact that moderators need to be more consistent in their actions. Inconsistent moderation and actions which have led to the perception of a 'privileged few' have all but killed GT in the Utopiatemple forums, and caused a major storm approximately a year ago in the old AllianceRankings forums.
In response to "Psychological distress due to moderator behavior is more likely indicating a problem with you than the moderators. Moderators are not responsible for your over-reliance on forum posting as a social outlet and stress reliever."
I don't think anyone is really suffering from psychological distress. But if OMAC does truly want to serve the community, it should start by identifying the community (yes, even if they brand us as whiny SOBs) and figuring out what makes us tick and what drives us away. And in this case, inconsistent and harsh moderation is not something which would appeal to anyone. It's happened before, don't let it happen here.
That is 2 examples of insults to other players being ignored while a MINOR dig at a mod leads to a warning, and in puppy's case a ban. This is quite hypocritical.
It has'nt been like this because both swirve and eesite and the forums before them had swear filters on the forums.
Yes your not the only one who can claim to "decade" of membership to utopias forums.
And also screw general talk the majority of us are Utalk people and the moderation there (swirves Utalk) was generaly more relaxed, due to the mods taking into account most UTalk people are close knit due our interaction via IRC and ingame.
You want a more friendly less aggressive enviroment in these forums for new players, but by shutting down threads and creating a less then happy forum with cencorship your manufacturing the eggxact opposite of your goal.
So, again mods prove incapable of making mistakes and rather egg us on. You may as well ban us all now, because you've only opened the door for far more of a fight. And this one, I assure you, will not be stopping.
It was generally more relaxed because there was generally no mods to cover that area. It wasn't a choice on our part, it was a result of insufficient man power.Quote:
