As the title suggests... Make killing and perhaps funding dragons give honor points.
Yes!! Good idea!
Also to prevent this from being abused, things like below could be considered:
- Only in war or hostiles from two sides
- In real wars, no fake wars (I think S&B can figure out how to check that)
- hmmmm did I miss something?
Before I say no, I'm going to ask why.
Why?
It would be impossible to stop the abuse! How could you write a program that determined between fake wars and real wars? Maybe the two kingdoms at war just REALLY suck and have very low activity so there aren't many hits.
And besides, do we really need more of an incentive to kill/fund dragons?
Well, not many hits > no hits ;P
ok I FW with a kingdom fund dragon slay dragon. Quite easily done as there are no hit ops happening. Loads of honor shoot to the top of the chart exit war with an early EOW CF.
ok I haven't made any hits so no honor but both kingdoms have an inactive maybe two so they trade hits and ops on those two gains are not a problem as you just want hits.
So Korp that no hits have become not many hits and FW dragoon slaying is abused to get to the top of the charts.
@ dragonsmate & Al3x: Well a fake war could be determined to yes number of hits and/or aggressors like the hostile system (I am sure there are smarter ways to determine a fake war or not)
@ Palem: to - especially in ghettos - stimulate people to slay/fund pets
(I know this shouldn't be needed, but hey you send your troops out to battle and get honor for it, killing a dragfon is so much more honorable ^_^)

I see 2 kingdoms in a war that lasts the entire age and all war long they fund and slay dragons and then at the end of the age they top the honor charts. They'll trade a few hits to avoid being flagged as FW. I can see kingdoms organizing this and selecting race/pers combos to make this work.
As has been said before, funding or killing a dragon is it's own reward. You can always just wait for the dragon to fly away if you don't want to slay.

The idea was discussed before.
The main point against it was that it could be used to generate honor in FWs.
The main solution I could find for this before things got sidetracked was the following: Sending a dragon reduces honor and slaying it gives honor.
However, it leaves the following issues:
a) A KD could still use this system to redistribute honor amongst its provinces
b) Assuming that both KDs don't go in FW as equals (ie, one is a farm), it could be used to more easily transfer honor from one KD to the next (although it does require the overhead of creating an entire farm KD so this is an issue of lesser concern, though I suppose alliances could still abuse it).
c) While from a roleplaying aspect, reducing honor for sending dragon and giving it for slaying dragon makes sense, it does mean that sending dragons will stop being an option for those going strictly for honor
Btw, the game is very ambiguous as far as point (c) is concerned (honor and roleplaying). For example, massacre (which would be a dishonorable tactic in RL) yields little or no honor while FBing someone's peasantry to death yields high honor.
It sorts of feel like the dev made some effort in giving honor several meanings, but didn't really go all the way in any direction, which leaves you with the impression that honor doesn't mean much (except being a less than perfect indicator as to how badass a KD is in war).
Anyways, this is as far as the discussion got before things degenerated into a flame war.
