FB vs Tornadoes

We've always done FB targets and killed their population. But when dragging out hostile we thought of trying tordanoes which will kill their max pop -- make them over pop and make them release until they get online to waste gc that would go to dragon onto re-building buildings.

Question being: what's a good % of barren lands to aim for when doing nades and is it strategically worth it?

FB is superior in 95%+ of cases.

I mostly nado to reduce nw.

You're going to have to do a bazillion tornadoes to cause them to release troops. If you want to tornado anyway, larger provinces have higher building costs, so tornadoing them is going to waste more overall gold.

combine tornade with arson or greater arson.

or fireball untill they are - income just by paying troops and start nado so they cant rebuild the buildings.

Tornado only if you want to reduce NW, are running Gold Dragon, or have already Fireballed everyone so that Fireball gains are tiny. Otherwise, Fireball.

tornadoes work good on thieves if you can do alot. break up all them thief dens lowers effectiveness and gets rid of the den protection. tht way they lose big numbers when they run ops. other then that never had much use for the spell

FB drops nw also.

This is a good idea. I'll have to try this sometime.

tornado is good for reducing a province's offense and defensive buildings temporarily, and as mentioned destroying nw.
problem being most kingdoms can't coordinate tornado or nightmare properly, and go to fb by default.

It's a lot of work to coordinate nados - fb is much easier and thus better =D I use nados when I have several goals to achieve on same prov, e.g. biggest enemy attacker to drop wt's and gs's so to do ns run and then chain. I wouldn't say they're worth it solely to drop off. Also in econ warfare in late war, when enemy has no gc left removing 100 acres for a large prov likely mean 100k+ gc per (successful) op gone for enemy, you never get this on 1 FB.

Tornado only when you already won.

Waste of runes imo.

Since my KD runs A/ms we've preferred the more steady success rate of FBs. Also less rune consuming as mentioned.

This is solid advice keeping in mind that Tacticians usually have a high amount of building credits and Dwarves have free buildings. So they may require multiple Tornado runs... FB chain and Nado chain both suck as an attacker. :P
