There is new owners that wants to do good with the games and somewhat stable playerbase currently albeit very small compared to past glory.
Nice good to see some new owners who want to keep it alive! So glad it's still kicking
Dont listen to korp...its going into the ground. Player base falls 10% each age
still good if you find the right place
you just have to look harder tho...the game is smaller so you cant just walk in and disappear among the trees
Dead game is dead
This ages drop likely due to the genesis effect running out since we stll don't have an individually targetted server. And due to unpopulair meter mechanics implemented, so it might not quite be 10% each age.
Technically it also means some of the has-beens lurking in the forum might get relevant again at some point since they are the only ones left.
Has-been here. If the player count is correlated with the acceptance of the changes, why is it that we have never seen an increase during ages where popular changes were made? We changed to hybrid land/nw gains, resulting in a loss of players. Then, in reverting back to pure nw based gains, we lost players again. Perhaps they wanted pure land based? I would venture to wager that the cold, icy hands of death have their own plan in place and that nothing we do on our end will affect it.
World changed alog past 10 years....and game is much older. For example Smart phones and social media....they all came past 10 years. So many new games....new fun and interest stufs to do...you cant attract people to came to this old text based game. So its only natural base to decrease.
Also, and I'm not sure if anyone has pointed this out already, but Genesis was finished on time and below budget. It just wasn't what you were expecting. :(
