    well,
human merch/warrior is a very solid choice for your basic attacker (or A/T)
dwarf is only really good as a kd wide choice
elf can be a very good attacker (choose warrior, war hero or merch) doesnt really have much going for it in terms of T or M
orc is good for hard and fast attacking, warrior is almost the default choice here, -20% attack time and +30% gains is very hard to beat
Gnome well, its gotta be rogue, and run as an A/T
DE makes a very nice A/M with mystic (or warrior)

can also run DE or elf as a T/M, but with orcs putting out such insane offense these days, these days, you will be broken :)
    Deliverance -> secrets -> anzac -> mercy -> rage -> "ghetto"

Dwarf is really the best, but it still should be a kd wide choice.

Bane I would say go Gnome Artisan. However, the people here will tell you other wise. It is always best to figure things out for yourself once you have the advice and knowledge of the others that have already been down the path. This advice and knowledge is just a light to one's own discovery.

    Human/anything.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

yeah but a whole kd of dwarves get owned, like that kd of dwarves last age lost all 5 wars, absolom? noobs anyway. my point is a dwarf on their own is just as good as a kd of dwarves, makes no dif.

If one is going to go Human Human/sage is the best combo from my stand point.

Sage is weak and inferior to merchant.
Merchant, warrior, rogue - all are great for human, but sage isn't a no-brainer anymore.

Agree with VT2. Sage is far from as powerful as it used to be.

Its pretty easy to craete/run a a/t gnome (warrior, rogue), theyre not extremely powerful but enought powerful to give you some fun in wars :)
Ive only run DE once, in Gen this age. Tree Of Gold really makes the game easier, but their army requires you to be in constant war to be really useful.
Think both elf and human are pretty solid, no serious drawbacks.

Summary: I would suggest Elf, Human or Gnome for race and warrior, rogue (for gnome) or merchant as personality.

That's wise man right there. VT2 you have say why you think merchant human is better vs. human sage. I think if one's strategy is to have as much science as one can get. Number one reason just being a sage one gets a sustained level of knowledge each day. In most cases that's more than the 15%gc one would get from being a merchant. But I guess it just comes down to one's style of play.
