De Telegraaf front page says sources inside AVID helped CIA map air attack

The biggest Newspaper in the Netherlands today devotes its front page to news that the Dutch intelligence agency has helped the CIA prepare for an air attack on Iran which it now believes is imminent.

AVID, Holland's military intelligence service, has pulled back from operations it was carrying out inside Iran as it believes an American led attack will go ahead within weeks according to De Telegraaf's sources.

    The headline reads:

"AIVD is calling back spy because of US plans

    ATTACK ON IRAN IMMINENT"

De Telegraaf reports that the decision has already been made by the U.S.

to attack Iran using unmanned aircraft. Potential targets are said to be nuclear facilities and military installations. The latter have been mapped by the CIA with the help of the Dutch secret service.

A portion of the article reads:

Good sources have declared to the Telegraaf that the AIVD has been operating in Iran for the last few years with the purpose of the infiltration and sabotage of the weapons industry of the Iranian republic.

The operations are said to have been "very successful" but have recently been put to a halt because of american plans for an air attack. Information regarding the AIVD operation has been shared with the CIA in recent years according to the sources.

Iran is probably working towards an atomic bomb and refuses to comply to western demands to stop enriching uranium. In june Israeli vice president Shaul Mofaz made the statement that an Israeli attack is inevitable if Iran continues its quest for atomic weapons.

Holland is a staunch ally of the U.S. government in the "war on terror". Dutch troops have served on the front lines in both the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.

and oh btw it is the AIVD, not the AVID

it stands for Algemene inlichtingen en veiligheidsdienst, not algemene veiligheids en inlichtingendienst

it was formerly known as BVD, binnenlandse veiligheidsdienst

Kinda like when North Korea stated dismantling their Nuclear weapons program. But since the US wouldn't take them off the 'Axis of Evil' they have now restarted it. Great diplomacy going on in the world huh.

Being a Veteran doesnt always mean you were a soldier.Just means you were in the service.
    Supply Clerks are veterans

And actually they had removed them from the list till they backed out on the agreement again.Japan had also.So nice Diplomacy for N.Korea getting the sanctions removed then going right back to where they were before and having the UN re-issue them.

Only mad. A soldier is a soldier. Every MOS in the military is a soldier 1st. That's why even supply clerks goto the firing range with their M-16's.

I was a RAU operator. Remote Access Unit. We would go out on our own to the hilltops. We had no infantry to guard us. Only ourselves.

And actually onlymad the US did not remove them from the list. The story you posted was from June. Here is a more recent one for you.

Did you serve your country onlymad?

they did remove, but put them back on the list and that didn't all happen in june, so that source is meaningless

Yes i did, also have a son in combat now for a 2nd tour so i know what a soldier is thank you.Just because someone fires a gun or learns how in basic doesnt mean they ever will again and honestly some shouldnt go near one again either.

And yes the sanctions were removed .Same time as Japan removed them because they had agreed to shut down then restarted again and was put right back on the list.

I shouldnt have to do research for you since you brought it up to begin with

Here republican leaders in the House are mad about them being removed to go along with the address above also from june

    http://www.politico.com/blogs/thecry..._decision.html

Even more for you when it began as the UN first imposed the sanctions and even N. Koreas on allies agreed with it

    http://www.cnn.com/2006/WORLD/asiapc...ons/index.html

So yes they were on the list. Stopped what they were doing and were removed , then restarted right back up again and have been re-added.

Any thing else you need to know about it ?

Real easy :google N.Korea Sanctions. It goes back way before what your posting.
