I would definitely use them for off. Mainly for the flexibility, and the extra def one gets when they are at home.
I hope next age they make some drastic changes to all the races. Maybe even add a new race or two.
The way I see it now, theres little reason to be anything other than DE or Gnome. The other races can do well, but you just have such an advantage with the other 2 you can achieve more. I just wish I wasnt an orc ;)

Yes, I use the elite of DEs to attack. Running about 4 off spec, 6 elite, and 5 def spec. Have stables to mount about 3 of the elites.
No DEs do not have static defense anymore. As usual, VTNub is a couple of ages behind the times.

DE has been the most overrated race all since they appeared in the game. But I do like that others play them. Gives me a lot of easy learn targets :D
Rogue is one of the strongest personalities by far and Gnome makes best use of it.
DE can make best use of Mystic, have plenty choice how on what troops to use and can turtle if they need to.
The others can be good but it takes more work.
What's strong really depends on what kd you're in and what your goals are. I see both those personalities and races as support provinces, not something I would consider for a whole kd
Oh, and Dolgil, they're still pretty much static, because the elite isn't efficient offensively. Slightly higher def than before with all troops home, but they're far from being turtles

actually based on some of the top kingdom match-ups this age, gnome is the best warring race this age. orc kd vs gnome kd is pretty common this age and i must say the result doesnt look good for the orcs
If played correctly an orc attacker can even go up against my province. I posted a strategy for orc that I would in our kingdom forum. Very strong orc build. The two biggest powers orc has is 1. 50% lower draft. This mean the orc can spend the extra money he or she saved on drafting in training military units. 2. The plague the way one gets the most out this power is by lowering one's attack time. The more an orc lowers his or her attack time the higher his or her odds are of giving the plague. If an orc can get his attack time to around 6 days at the same time keeping Forts,Tgs, and Gss. This can be done. And if an orc player finds out how to do this they will have gnome attackers thinking twice.
No need. ToG + plunder = a few days is all you need.
