    Attack NW penalty

"Attacking vastly different size opponents will result in higher attack times and lower gains."

It is affecting about nw only or nw + land? How does the combination work? Any formula? How large is too large and how small is too small? Rumors saying no larger than 115% and no smaller than 80%. Lets say i am 200k network sitting at 1500 acres: for maximum gain i can only hit within
160k-230k? If I get 200 acres for hitting 230k (+15% my size) opponent, will I get lesser for hitting someone 240k (+20% my size)?

hitting within 20% of your nw (80-120%) is a pretty good guide =)

NW difference determines what % of the target's land (or science, or resources) you gain. This % is then obviously applied to his acres. So if you have two targets at same NW, one at 2000 and one at 3000 acres, you'll obviously gain 50% more from the second one. You will gain the same % from both, though.

Here are a few guestimates of what the gains will look like:
    125% NW 10% gains
    115% NW 12% gains
    100% NW 14% gains
    80% NW 9% gains

Some think that max gains % is a bit over your NW, I think max % is for hitting same NW.
If I get 200 acres for hitting 230k (+15% my size) opponent, will I get lesser for hitting someone 240k (+20% my size)?
You will get a lower %, yes. So if they have same acres, you'll get more acres by hitting the 230k guy.

actually, greenie, 90-110 is best for reasons i wont go into here ;)

catwalk has the right idea, but his gains are still pretty off, by at least 10%. He is on the right track that u wanna hit close to your own nw for max gains but you'd still wanna topfeed.

I believe gains are also capped at a % of your own acres as well and that orc 30% gains bonus does not allow you to go over this cap. In effect the bonus makes it more viable to bottom feed for best gains.

Correct, the cap is both 20% of the enemy's acres and 20% of your own. If you're small at high NW and topfeed, you run into this easily.

ive found hitting 80-85% of nw gets me calld a "bottomfeeder" on occasion, but the beauty of it is, whilst the gains arent as high as hitting ~95% of nw, its almost always a safe hit, as with your attack you push them slightly out of retal range =)

works best when the person you are hitting is the biggest in their kd =D
knocks them out of retal range, so (from their kd at least) it's a safe hit
i would rather hit for 6-7% land safely, then hit for 10% land and get retalled for 8-9%

I think you'll find the amount of sci beeing the same, just that beeing chained is very similar to landdropping which increase the effect not the amount :-P
