    BE question

This probably has been asked before but there been a slight discussion in my KD as to how Homes effect BE.

Now this is my thought process, Homes (not including the additional population bonus) are equivalent to empty buildings.

If you have 80% BE with 0% homes, that means 20% of your buildings are empty anyways.

My question is if you reduce all your buildings to 80% of their original acres and add 20% homes will your BE become 100%?

Will the effects of the buildings be more or less the same at the reduced acres and a 100% BE?

Also how is BE calculated? I currently have a 88.3% BE that is headed downwards, but on my Internal Advisor's page it says:

    Current Available Workers: 21,956
    Current Available Jobs: 55,550
    Building Efficiency: 88.3%
Workers Needed for Max Efficiency: 37,219

If I take Current Available Workers / Workers Needed for MAx Efficiency = 0.589913

Does that mean my BE will be 59%? (my science adds 7.2%)

They affect building effectiveness by adding acres that don't employ anyone, yet still house people.
More people + less jobs = increase in effectiveness of all buildings that actually do employ people.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

no no no the math is all wrong

its not 20% from homes! you need to have 66% AvailableWorkers/AvailableJobs in order to have 100% BE (without sci)

Sorry if my question was a bit unclear here is an example.

Suppose I have 3000 Total Jobs. For 100% BE I would need 2000 Workers. If I had 80% BE it means I only have 1600 workers. However if I altered my build so that 20% of my land went into homes, I now have 20% less jobs.

    So new Total Jobs = 3000x0.8 = 2400.
    100% BE = 2/3 Total Jobs = 1600.

I had 1600 workers with 80% BE and 0% homes (Ignoring the additional population bonus from homes) I now have 1600 workers at 100% BE with 20% homes?

    Is this math right?

Can I correctly assume that for every additional 1% home I add I can expect a 1% increase in BE?

    nope
cause the formula is something like this:
    0.4 + 0.6 * (pezzies/pezzies needed)

Does the BE science, get added to your final BE or to the ratio of (pezzies/pezzies needed)

    [.5+.746(pez/jobs)]*sci i thought

with 0 sci, 60% draft, 2wpa: 1% homes will increase your BE .37%

    [.5+.746((.99*25+.01*33-2)*.4)/(.99*25)]-[.5*.746(9.2/25)]

Except in huge pop sci cases, homes are trash.

BE isnt the only benefit of homes though, 8 more pop is 18 more gc an hour (or more troops if your drafting them) and you have the BR bonus.

I think homes are on par with other buildings in most cases, they have their uses but they're not always the best building to have.

They're certainly better for provinces that are drafting very highly and need the homes to support that kind of NW growth without increased acres, than they are for low nwpa provinces

if you have no homes, as long as BE is >80, you're fine =)

if ur BE is 80%, then having 10% homes will likely boost it about 6%, so its really only sacrafising 4% of ur land for 3% pop plus some extra BR

i would say keep BE between 85~92%
