"1.5k acres, that's like 2 weeks of play. And after this?"
not if you stay semi small and keep warring, not everyone whores their way onward.

So if you did do 70% draft, what % homes and banks would you run to be pretty self sustainable?
i dont know why people run no homes if you're under 90% BE, homes will be good for you.
people just use homes the wrong way they see extra pop and draft it up. if you use em like that they're usless.
if you're at 75-80% BE, shave some thing of each building to accommodate 10-12% homes, lower your draft (so keep army the same, dont draft new). When you're new pop is stabalized use your new draft in the future.
after you done this your BE is 90%-ish or more and even with all the stuff shaven off of your old buildings, you're total bonusses in every building will have increased at the cost a small increase of NW (more pop)
So what you are saying is we should pair every orc with a human bank? I agree with Toadi and i would not recommend having no economy for an orc. Aid is useful but having to rely FULLY on kingdommate aid is not the most viable strat. Espcially if the so called bank doesnt outgrow the kingdom to provide the aid.
Im never a fan of homes for war for some reason.

no, having hospitals is a huge plus for orcs because of how expensive and valuable their leets are

Homes do not become better at high acres.

Only building that changes with acres is towers become less important as rune costs decrease proportionally for spells as acres get higher, because they have a set cost + an acre based cost.
E.G at 500 acres Patriotism might cost you 2600 runes, which is several hours worth with 10% towers, but at 2.5k acre Patriotism might cost you 3500 runes, which is not even an hours runes with 10% towers.
Those are just rough numbers :P
Homes do become better the higher your trained draft is though.
Ok BASICALLY for HOMES.
EVery 10% of land you build into homes, you get +3.2% pop bonus.
Thats pretty much it ^_^
Homes shouldn't be used for pop or birthrate, they should be used for increasing your BE. The birthrate is just a perk which helps during war and pop is another perk but not a huge one at that.
The main point of homes is increasing BE.
Now, I'm still trying to figure out if a 75% BE is okay if I can put that 10% that would have gone into Homes elsewhere, like watchtowers.
definitely, the raw bonus from WTs more than makes up for the spread bonus of homes, i dont think 10% affects BE THAT MUCH for it to be worth it.
(0.5 * (((Peasants + prisoners / 2) / [.67 * Total Jobs]) + 1)) * Sci + Race bonus
lets assume;
0 prisers, 6% houseing science and 9% tools sciences, 65% draft, no race bonueses, could be a ORC.
orc 1000acres no homes;
raw pop: 1000 x 25
mod pop: 25,000 x 1.06(sci) x 1.02 (lord b) = 27,030 max pop
65% draft means 9460 peasents for working jobs, 17569 military units.
(0.5 * (((9460/ 2) / [.67 * 25000]) + 1)) * 1.09
= (0.5 * ((4730 / 16750)+1)) * 1.09
= 0,641 x 1.09 = 0,6989% = about 70% BE
now lets try with 10% homes;
orc 1000acres 10% homes;
raw pop: 1000 x 25 + 100 x 8 = 25,800
mod pop: 25,800 x 1.06(sci) x 1.02 (lord b) = 27,895 max pop
62,9% draft means 10,326 peasents for working jobs, 17569 military units.
(0.5 * (((10,326/ 2) / [.67 * 25000 x 0.9 (10% homes)]) + 1)) * 1.09
= (0.5 * ((5163 / 15075)+1)) * 1.09
= 0.6715 x 1.09 = 0,732 BE
O_o that was less than I expected I made a mistake somewhere right? im so darn tired i dont know what im doing and to lazy to double check it.
anyways this assumes same province, with and without 10% homes with same amount of military units and it seems like 10% homes only add abit more than 3% BE. But I probably made a mistake somewhere.
