me and catwalk have the same thumb :) 800 bpa, then its worth considering. If someone has all their books in one category, libs might be good sooner, but chances are your science is not balanced.

Nah, libraries become worse if it's all in one category. 800 BPA in one category = far less total value than if spread out at least somewhat.
That said, I don't really know what a good allocation is with the new sci modifiers. We put around half on the econ fields, evenly distributed among them.

So when does 20% or 30% libs become smart? And does "maxing" buildings, like say dens, have a significant impact? Since BE >100% has a disproportionate effect on how much is needed for max effect.
I personally get to about 25-30% libs by late age... but I might be overdoing it. I know that many are good for hyper-sci strats (old hum sage) but maybe not for the sci levels I'm reaching. (Though 2-3k total bpa is possible if I get chained a bit at some point).
Think Different
i think 25-30% libs is a bit extreme. With 1000 bpa, 20% seemed about right. The extra 10% still gives nice bonuses but i simply couldn't find a good strat with only 70% of my land. You will still need farms/ brx/ tgs/ forts/ tds/ guilds/ towers.
20% libraries are a poor deal at 1k BPA. At least the last 10% will be inferior to banks, and banks will be inferior to most other buildings.
