Utopians not as medieval as Mehul would have us think
Mehul's utopia is sure a fascinating world where a medieval era province can compete with some of 21st century's most densely populated urban centers.
Take Tokyo for example, with an average pop density of 5655 /kmē of the city and the surrounding urban areas.(1) That's roughly 27.8 people/acre in Utopian terms if we accept google's definition of an acre as being
1 acre = 4 046.85642 m^2
Now lets look at my Utopian province with a modest pop. density of 28 citizens/acre Not bad for a place without skyscrapers, concrete or electricity!
A staggering 65% of the population is on ative duty in the armed forces while only 8% of the territory is being used for agriculture, employing just a meager 2.35% of the entire population and completely providing for the province's needs. Compare that with UK's modern day agriculture sector where it takes up 3/4 of the country's land and employs less than 2% of the population.(2)
