Utopians not as medieval as Mehul would have us think

Utopians not as medieval as Mehul would have us think

Mehul's utopia is sure a fascinating world where a medieval era province can compete with some of 21st century's most densely populated urban centers.

Take Tokyo for example, with an average pop density of 5655 /kmē of the city and the surrounding urban areas.(1) That's roughly 27.8 people/acre in Utopian terms if we accept google's definition of an acre as being
    1 acre = 4 046.85642 m^2

Now lets look at my Utopian province with a modest pop. density of 28 citizens/acre Not bad for a place without skyscrapers, concrete or electricity!

A staggering 65% of the population is on ative duty in the armed forces while only 8% of the territory is being used for agriculture, employing just a meager 2.35% of the entire population and completely providing for the province's needs. Compare that with UK's modern day agriculture sector where it takes up 3/4 of the country's land and employs less than 2% of the population.(2)

Well probably the very fertile lands, the excelent choice of food type (bushels) that offers enough to feed the population, the lack of technology, makes Utopians war more work in agriculture less.

The dense population is needed to allow the totally astonishing birth rates, without wich Utopians would have problems keeping up with the war casualities.

    :P

I always assumed acre in Utopia to mean something a bit larger than the standard definition. I believe acre was used because it is the only land/area unit that doesn't involve a square something or other. For all we know a Utopian acre could equal 10 real acres.

They stack the buildings on top of each other, using magic to ensure things don't collapse.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

If utopia followed real life rules, it wouldn't be utopia at all...

    AND .. AND..

without homes, you can still see people make babies on those awesome acres. I mean, screw real estate. We are making babies on top of soil and stables (if you like powneh).

if you assume by acres he meant square miles, than it all works out, especially for the gnome and elf realistic populations :)

Also, isnt having 5%+ of your population employed within intelligence service kind of unusual?
