    Gnome A/T

If there are no changes to next age, was tossing up between A/M or A/T but leaning more towards playing gnome A/T but having trouble thinking up a strat, help anyone?
thinking of something along the lines of...

10-15% homes, are these effective only when static or worth having all the time?

    10-15% banks

11% farms, should be able to steal food when needed

    10-15% training grounds

15-20% barracks, usually pretty active, also even if troops come home will give me a defence bonus

    9% guilds

4% towers, steal more if needed

    20% thieves dens

    9% stables

    1% dungeons

    any help would be appreciated

You dun need 20 percent rax unless you're going pure attacker. Here's the thing. If you attack and grow so fast your tpa is going to be diluted most of the time. If you dun attack then your rax aint going to be tt useful. You already got quick feet. And you'll constantly need to draft and train troops, so tt constant growth will strain your economy unless you're very active in robbing. You can consider increasing the homes to 20 percent. Lots of ppl say different things, but this is my opinion. focus on thieves first and leave out the rax, get a good tpa, increase the homes and guilds. When you're going into a war or reaching your kingdom's target size leave the old buildings alone but start building rax. 10 percent will do in my opinion, cos of reduced attack time and quick feet.

    Don't play failgnome.
Catwalk's crusade for legalized cheating was a stunning success, with ghettos and low-tiered teams everywhere losing their wells of knowledge to better kingdoms in the process.

Step one: replace everything that works.
Step two: blame the predictable epic fail on outside forces.
Step three: keep the community informed that no progress has been made since the last update.
Step four: thank you for your patience.

15% homes is a decent target. alternate between 10-15 to optimise. don't just stick to build, be bit more fluid.

Too many farms, drop that to 8%

    More guilds, towers are fine.

    i would run probably
    13% homes
    7% farms
    17.5% tg's
    12.5% rax
    17% guilds
    4% towers
    24% TDS
    1% dungeon
    9% GS

Lose the stables. useless building for the space efficiency.

I'm a little behind on science because of a mid age start, but as you can see, you can get quite respectable opa and tpa playing gnome a/t :)

why so many guilds though? is 1 wpa no longer enough for any non mage? (i only just came back after a few ages)

also, i thought stables were just about the best offence building for their space...9% should mount all elites while giving 1 raw offence...seems to do more then 9% TG would? in terms of pure offence

that's pretty reasonable for a late age start

Owned by fireballs, and expose thieves.
    Bam - you're dead.

    not really...
with 2.5 raw wpa + 50% science, people wont have an easy time getting through...
what would you say the average wpa of a decent A/M is?
    3-4 raw with ~80% science?

looking at 3.75 vs 7.2 mod, which is <2x the mod wpa
that is hardly enough to get a decent succes rate
    Deliverance -> secrets -> anzac -> mercy -> rage -> "ghetto"

    8% Farms?

When game goes down for 24 + hours you login and see 20% of your army have starved

I keep being puzzled at seeing even as high as 8% farms... 6% is what I'm used to. Then I remember than 100%+ food sci and 120% BE is not normal, only sci pumped humans get that...

Lots of people leaving out forts... get some. A loose approximation is to split tgs/forts at the same rate as your off/def split. Not always quite optimal, but should be better than pure tg. Works better with larger %s - I'd recommend 20% min between the two buildings. (ME mods = lower NW/A with same military. You can even "under-draft" in the 60-65% range if you have enough TG/Fort to make the BE give back most of the lost military as ME mods.)
it's vs. its is ambiguous - from now on I'm attempting to use the proper possessive it's, and the contraction 'tis. (Its will just be the plural.)

    Think Different

(in war) a gnome with 65% draft will fall way to quickly...
going into a war, need closer to 70%

for growing, 65% is probably fine, but anything less is bad

I'm at 72% draft. I have a lot of guilds because i was pumping wizards, just havn't gotten round to razing them yet. I need that many farms to keep fed, i don't want to rely on stealing food because thats often problematic and eats up valuable stealth.

And 'owning' me with fire balls and expose thieves is possible but that could be said of any A/t, i think my mod defensive wpa is decent

so from reading other threads... is it true that homes will offer me more offence/defence then stables?

would i b better off scratching 9% or so stables and putting in extra homes? especially with gnomes enhanced homes?
